US-China Trade Talks Resume Ahead of Trump and Xi’s Meeting

Talks on trade between the United States and China have been restarted, reports confirmed.

The news comes ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s planned meeting later this month.

US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He reportedly had a phone conversation on Friday.

The U.S. is demanding for a clear offer from China before negotiations on a trade deal can begin.

However, Beijing proposes to talk first before making a firm proposal later.

A spokesman for the U.S. Treasury has yet to comment on the news.

New York City and Northern Virginia will serve as the homes of Amazon’s second and third headquarters.

Amazon is expected to divide its promised 50,000 new jobs evenly between the two offices.

It’s not clear how the company will split its estimated $5 billion budget for a campus similar to its Seattle homebase.

Former AOL CEO Steve Case commended Amazon’s choice, saying on Instagram, “Amazon’s announcement is a win not just for VA, but for the entire greater DC region.”

Netflix Tries Cheaper Price Tier in Select Markets

Netflix will be trying to experiment with lower prices in select markets, CEO Reed Hastings recently revealed.

Further details on the actual plan to test cheaper Netflix subscription prices have yet to be announced.

Hastings also declined to say when or where the plans would be implemented.

The cheaper tier will not be like the Netflix people are used to, reports claimed.

However, it is expected to introduce the streaming platform to millions of new customers.

Hastings said the company has over 100 million potential customers in India alone.

American Superhero Creator, Comic Book Icon Stan Lee Dies at 95

Stan Lee, the man who created Marvel’s famous superheroes, has died at the age of 95.

The comic book icon was taken by ambulance on Monday morning to Cedar’s Sinai Medical Center, where he later died.

Kirk Schneck, who is the lawyer of Lee’s daughter, said the cause of Lee’s death is not yet known.

Lee’s career started in 1939 at Timely Comics where he worked as writer, editor, and illustrator.

After DC Comics reimagined its heroes in the ‘50s, Lee was tapped to create heroes to compete against DC’s Justice League in the ‘60s.

It eventually paved the way to a revolution in the comic book industry.
