The Voicing Lead In The Pixar Film “Up” Ed Asner Died At The Age Of 91

Ed Asner is best known for a lot of roles including Lou Grant on both “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and its spinoff “Lou Grant.”

The actor’s family confirmed his death through his official Twitter account Sunday morning, “We are sorry to say that our beloved patriarch passed away this morning peacefully. Words cannot express the sadness we feel. With a kiss on your head- Goodnight dad. We love you.”

Hollywood stars promptly pay their recognitions for the Emmy-winning entertainer including William “Billy” Zabka who played as his child in the hit Netflix Series, “Cobra Kai.”

“Devastated to hear this news. What a legend. What a beautiful human and special friend. I learned so much from him. My love and deepest condolences to the Asner family #RIP Dear Ed @TheOnlyEdAsner 💔 🙌🏼,” he composed.

Mark Hamill also paid his tribute He had the chance to work with the entertainer on The Mary Tyler Moore show. “A great man…a great actor… a great life. Thank you Mr. Asner. #RIP 💔,” the Star Wars actor wrote.

Sad to hear of Ed Asner's death. Loved him in Lou Grant, and hadn't realised he was Santa in #Elf, or the voice of Carl in #Up.
