The couple broke up just 4 months after the birth of their son.

The pop vocalist reported that he and his sweetheart Jena Frumes have separated after they invited their child named Jason King.

“Jena and I have decided to part ways,” Derulo announced on his twitter account. “She is an amazing mother but we feel being apart at this time will allow us to be the best versions of ourselves and the best parents we could be.”

He finished his note by saying, “Pls respect our privacy in this time.”

The previous couple just commended both of their birthday events in Aspen, Colorado simply a day earlier, with Frumes sharing a sweet post for the pop star and later deleted.

“Blessed to share the same day of birth with my lover. You are the most handsome, hardworking, talented, silly, loving human ever,” the model wrote to her now ex-beau on Wednesday.

“You truly make me whole and I’m so grateful for the love we share. You and our mini make me the happiest girl in the world and I can’t wait to make more memories with you guys.”

She ended the note by saying, “I know I’m a tough cookie but you make me soft and accept me for who I am and I’m forever grateful for that🥺 Cheers to another year! I love you so much, forever ❤️”

The previous couple invited Jason King on May 8, with Derulo calling it, “The happiest day of my life,” and added, “He’s so lucky to have such a strong caring hero of a mother @jenafrumes.”
