A spokesman for the 59-year-old artist disclosed to PEOPLE that he is “completely vaccinated and feeling fine.”

According to local NBC station WSVN, the musician was slated to play at an event dubbed “Runaway With JBJ” at the Loews South Beach hotel when he got a positive result on a rapid COVID test.

When the singer’s positive test was revealed, the crowd had already assembled at the venue, and concertgoers were told the singer felt “great” and was going “to bed,” while band members who tested negative stayed at the venue for the scheduled performance.

“Runaway With JBJ” is a three-day, two-night event in Miami Beach that promises “the ultimate fan experience” for followers, according to the event’s website. An “Intimate Storyteller Performance,” a Halloween costume party, and a picture session are all part of the event, which runs through Sunday.

All guests were asked to show evidence of immunization or a COVID test result that was negative. Jon’s 18-year-old son, as well as his keyboardist and percussionist, were all diagnosed positive for COVID last year.
