This is not new to the actor as he had done voice work before but this one is a huge role.

Chris Pratt is scheduled to voice the iconic lasagna-loving cat, “Garfield,” in a new animated feature film, as per The Hollywood Reporter. Bill Murray’s portrayal of Garfield in Garfield: The Movie and Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties will be his inspiration.

However, there is little information about the upcoming film, and we still don’t know when we’ll be able to hear Pratt as Garfield devour lasagna. However, according to the principal outlet of this news, Jim Davis, the creator of Garfield, will serve as an executive producer.

The film is being produced by Alcon Entertainment, with Sony Pictures set to release Garfield’s next adventure in theaters throughout the world (excluding China). At a later period, a release date will be revealed.

Pratt has recently directed Disney and Pixar’s animated adventure “Onward” as well as the Warner Bros. toy-based “Lego Movie” franchise.

Because Pratt is not Italian, his casting as Mario in Universal’s new “Super Mario Bros.” remake has caused considerable controversy. He’ll be joined by a voice cast that includes Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong in that flick.

We now have our first look at Garfield from the new animated Garfield film directed by Mark Dindall. He looks great and I love the new look. Chris Pratt being chosen to play him is a bit odd, but I'm glad Mark Dindall's film is still happening despite the Nickelodeon acquistion.

I think Chris Pratt is probably in psychic agony at all times but cannot express it. Just a vibe I pick up. I actually think this will aid him as Garfield.
