He is prepared to pursue a wrongful death case.
Halyna Hutchins unfortunately died from her injuries due to a gun incident during the film’s set at Bonanza Creek Ranch on the outskirts of Santa Fe, New Mexico and it was Alec Baldwin who pulled the trigger.
A spokesperson for the family told The Los Angeles Times on Wednesday that Matthew Hutchins, the late “Rust” cinematographer’s husband, has retained the legal services of Panish Shea Boyle Ravipudi, with Brian Panish serving as lead lawyer, and that Hutchins “remains focused on taking care of his son and processing his grief.”
“Respecting Mr. Hutchins’ request for privacy as the family grieves the loss of Halyna Hutchins, the firm will not be making any statements at this time,” the firm said.
While no criminal charges have been filed, the Santa Fe County District Attorney and Sheriff’s Department are still investigating Halyna’s death.
