He is best known for his role in Sons of Anarchy where he appeared in a huge 35 episodes.
Actor William Lucking has passed away at his Las Vegas home last month. Lucking was described as a “giant of a man with the soul of a poet” in an obituary written by his wife of 25 years, Sigrid.
“Although William often played toughs and strongmen, in his actual life he was an elegant man with a brilliant intellect who loved to argue about politics and current affairs, discuss philosophy and physics and assert fine-pointed opinions about art and poetry,” his wife composed.
“He was a giant of a man with the soul of a poet, one who ‘contained…a tension of sorts within his being…like a boulder teetering on a hill…or a balloon expanding towards its extreme,’ as one friend put it.”
“The family requests you toast his memory and celebrate his legacy,” Sigrid’s obituary concluded.
From the beginning of the “SoA” series in 2008 through the fourth season in 2011, he played the character of biker Piney Winston who is the oldest member and most senior adviser of the biker club. He wore an oxygen tank on the program and appeared to have slowed down as the season progressed.

Rest in power, eternal happiness and peace, William Lucking. So many of my favourite #SOA moments are my favourite because of Bill's iconic portrayal of Piney.
