Kanye West has expressed optimism about wanting to be together with his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian-West during his appearance as a guest on the Drink Champs podcast on Thursday.

The rapper mentioned the Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ alum recent Saturday Night Live hosting appearance, in which she joked about divorcing West due to his “personality.”

“‘SNL’ making my wife say ‘I divorced him’ on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off. I never even seen the papers. We’re not even divorced,” he said on Revolt TV’s “Drink Champs.”

“They ain’t no joke to me. My kids want their parents to stay together. I want us to be together,” he added.

The former couple dated in 2012 and they wed in Florence, Italy, in 2014. After seven years of being married, the mother of four filed a divorce in February.

However, despite their differences, a source told PEOPLE that they still remain friends and that the SKIMS founder “is still moving forward with the divorce,” and, “loves having Kanye’s support though.”

“They were not in a good place around the time Kim filed for divorce. She is so happy that things are better now,” the source continued. “It’s all very beneficial for the kids.”

Kardashian-West was seen spending time with SNL actor Pete Davidson late last month, prompting West’s comments on the Drink Champs podcast.

As previously seen in exclusive photographs acquired by the publication, the reality star and the comedian clasped hands on a roller coaster at Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park.
