The real housewives have had a rocky connection for years, but it's only become worse in recent months.

Kelly Dodd, former “Real Housewives of Orange County,” is “sad” and “pathetic,” according to Heather Dubrow who is set to return to RHOC for Season 16.

When asked about how she felt about Dodd filming her and her husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow, while at dinner during an interview with Page Six, she said, “It makes me laugh. Kelly seems to talk about me a lot, so at this point I don’t know whether to be really flattered that she’s so obsessed with me or sad for her that she has no other content.”

“No. 1: You don’t burn bridges and No. 2 you have to figure out your next steps, and I don’t think sitting at a restaurant filming former cast members is a viable employment opportunity, and it just seems sad, pathetic,” she added. “[You have to] extract yourself elegantly.”

Kelly Dodd then, responds, tweeting alongside Page Six’s report on Wednesday, “If I’m so irrelevant why did your lawyer send me 2 cease & desist letters? BTW no one ‘heckled’ you,” referring to the day she recorded Dubrow and her husband Terry Dubrow at dinner.

The former reality star continued, “I just got video of you & Gomer Pyle [a fictional character who Dodd said Terry resembled] eating alone at a table for 6. You’re the ‘sad & pathetic’ one. Ask anyone in production. They can’t stand you.”

Dubrow disputed allegations that she got Dodd fired shortly after Dodd’s departure and her return were revealed, although she did admit that part of the reason she wanted to return was because Dodd and others would no longer be on the program.

“I think you would know that anyone that thinks they have that kind of power on a show like this is really very misguided,” Dubrow disclosed to E! News in July. “Having said that, when I left the show, I felt like the culture of the show was changing and it wasn’t really in line with who I am or something that I felt comfortable in.”

The 16th season of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” premieres at 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Bravo’s ET.
