Rapper Kodak Black Arrested In Florida For Trespassing

Kodak Black Kick Off 2022 Behind Bars

What a terrible way to begin the year 2022.

On Saturday morning, Kodak Black, whose actual name is Bill Kapri, was arrested in his hometown of Pompano Beach, Florida, on a trespassing allegation.

His lawyer, Bradford Cohen, claims that his client returned to his former neighborhood of Greenacres for the holidays to spend time with friends and to pay off credit card debt for five local families who had spent money on Christmas presents for their children and loved ones.

TMZ reported that while he was there, officers arrived and took Kodak into jail, accusing him of violating a notice issued by the local Housing Authority. He was later released after posting bond and was out of jail by Saturday evening.

Cohen further believes the arrest was unlawful since the C&D never made it to Kodak, implying that it was not properly served because it was mailed to his record label rather than him directly. Second, he claims that the letter makes no mention of not entering the premises, thus it shouldn’t have been used as a reason for any arrest.

Legal trouble is not new for the rapper since he has been detained multiple times. In April 2021, he pled guilty to molesting a young girl in a hotel room in South Carolina in 2016, earning a 10-year suspended sentence and 18-month probation.

He had also been convicted of a weapons offense before being pardoned by former President Donald Trump after serving almost half of his three-year sentence.
On the other hand, Black was recognized for his charity contributions in Broward County, which includes Pompano Beach, in June 2021.
After Meadow Pollack was slain in the Parkland school massacre, he contributed money to the children of two FBI agents killed in Florida, paid for a South Carolina police officer’s burial, and established a scholarship in her honor at Nova Southeastern University.
