Jenna Jameson Diagnosed With Guillain-Barré Syndrome

She's undergoing infusions to help her get better.

Jenna Jameson has given her followers an update on her health. On Monday, the former adult film actress posted a video from her hospital bed, revealing that she is being treated for a rare ailment.

Doctors have diagnosed the mother of three with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a rare auto-immune condition that affects the body’s nerves and muscles.

“I’m in the hospital still. And we’ve gotten some answers. I’m dealing with a little syndrome called Guillain-Barré Syndrome, so I’m working through that,” Jameson shared in her video.

She also wrote in the caption that she’s “started my IVIG treatment,” adding that she “will likely remain [in the hospital] until treatment is complete. I hope to be out of here soon.”

Over the weekend, Lior Bitton, Jameson’s partner, also posted on Instagram that she was in the hospital for testing after “not feeling so good,” informing followers on her status and what led to her hospitalization.

According to Bitton, she had been “throwing up for a couple weeks” and had gone to the hospital last week. However, doctors let her to come home after a CT scan came back clean, but soon discovered she “couldn’t carry herself. The muscles in her legs were very weak.”

“So she wasn’t able to walk to the bathroom. She was falling on the way back or to the bathroom, and then I would have to pick her up and take her to bed,” Bitton said in the video, as he sat on a sofa with the couple’s 4-year-old daughter, Batel. “And then within two days it got really not so good. Her legs started to not hold her, she wasn’t able to walk.”

Bitton additionally claimed that Jameson’s knees crumbled even with a walker, and she couldn’t support her own body weight with her weakening muscles. He opted to take Jameson back to the hospital, where she had an MRI and a spinal tap before being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome on Sunday.

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare neurological illness in which the immune system assaults the nervous system by mistake, resulting in muscular weakness and temporary paralysis. The cause of Guillain-Barré is unknown, although most instances are caused by a viral infection of the respiratory or gastrointestinal tract, according to the National Institutes of Health.
