Her skull was fractured as a consequence.
After collapsing on Saturday night, three minutes into her 7 p.m. show in Tempe, Ariz., Heather McDonald was sent to the hospital with a skull fracture, as reported by Page Six.
“So I’m in the emergency room. I look weird. I’m so so so so sorry,” the comic said in a video shared to her Instagram Stories from her hospital bed. “I passed out on stage. I got up, I did one joke and I felt so dizzy.”
“I cannot believe this happened,” she continued, pointing to her bruised and swollen eye. “I feel so terrible that they had to tell everyone to leave and then cancel the second show.” She also said she’d be back in Tempe by the end of her message.
McDonald’s management likewise issued a statement, claiming that she may have passed out due to exhaustion and that she tested negative for COVID. She did not consume any alcohol before to or during the performance as well and her tests at the hospital revealed no underlying medical conditions that may have been connected to the occurrence.
