Let us all pray for his and others' safety as they return home.

Just after Russia invaded Ukraine on Thursday morning, “Dancing With the Stars” veteran Maksim Chmerkovskiy posted two Instagram footages showcasing the “reality” in his homeland.

“There’s ALWAYS another way! WAR is NEVER an answer,” he captioned an Instagram video of himself standing on a balcony in Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, with sirens blaring incessantly.

“I will never be the same,” his caption continued. “This is stressful and I’m getting old feelings back, like I’ve done this before. This does feel like the way it was when and why we left in the 90s. Like my old PTSD I’ve finally fixed is coming back.”

“I literally only just forgot about those ‘always on the edge’ feelings and actually started worrying about things like bbq grills,” he added. “I’m crying as I’m typing this because all man deserves to worry about [is] ‘bbq grills’ and not f–king war. Hug your loved ones.”

In a second video, the reality star can be seen crying as he moves the camera to reveal the reality of what is happening and the surrounding city center, stating it’s been terrible to observe the aftermath.

“I want to go back home. And I realize that I have the way to — I realize that I have a different passport, and my family is far away.” Chmerkovskiy is married to fellow DWTS star Peta Murgatroyd and they have a 5-year-old son named Shai Aleksander.

Murgatroyd, his wife, has also asked followers to pray for his safe return to his homeland of Ukraine. “I don’t usually ask these things from my social media network,” she said on Instagram on Thursday. “However today is extremely hard and the next few will be even harder.”

“Many of you are asking for details and I don’t have the answers, but yes, he is safe right now. Please pray that he comes home soon. Please pray that he has a swift, safe exit,” she continued. “I have FAITH. I have HOPE and I have PRAYED so hard.”

“Please pray for Ukraine and the innocent civilians who’s [sic] lives are being greatly uprooted,” her post concluded. “I grew to love this country the couple of times I visited and they’re in an unfathomable situation.”

Devastating.

I remember watching @MaksimC on Dancing with the Stars years ago. Prayers for the safety of him and others in Ukraine, and for Russian civilians caught in this too. Even though I don't think U.S. should get involved in the combat, we have a great weapon against evil - prayer.
