The actress publicly accused Manson of physical and emotional abuse over a year ago, prompting the complaint.
Marilyn Manson has filed a defamation action against his former partner, Evan Rachel Wood, alleging that he physically and mentally harassed her throughout their relationship.
Wood and another woman identified as a defendant, Illma Gore, allegedly used false pretenses, including a counterfeit FBI letter, to persuade additional women to come forward with sexual assault charges, according to the complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court acquired by TMZ.
According to the documents, Manson’s legal team sets out a sequence of alleged incidents between 2019 and 2021 that imply Wood and Gore worked together to concoct false charges against him, including impersonating an FBI agent to urge potential victims to come forward at the same time as allegations of sexual assault and abuse.
Wood, though, revealed she had been raped and mistreated in 2017, when the #MeToo movement was gaining traction, and she spoke before a congressional committee in 2018, both without identifying anybody. Then, in February 2020, Wood identified Manson in an Instagram post, alleging he “horrifically abused me for years.”
The “Westworld” star then mentioned Manson in an Instagram post around February 2020, claiming that he “horrifically abused me for years.” Several women, including “Game of Thrones” actress Esme Bianco, have also accused the musician of sexual assault.
“There will come a time when I can share more about the events of the past year,” Manson wrote on Twitter. “Until then, I’m going to let the facts speak for themselves.”
Reactions to Marilyn Manson Sues Evan Rachel Wood For Defamation
As a lifelong Marilyn Manson fan let me say this:— literal dilf (@JezButt91) March 4, 2022
He is absolutely going to lose his nonsense lawsuit and deserves to go to prison for the rest of his life but unfortunately he's a rich white dude protected by a system.
I don’t know why I am surprised at all with Marilyn Manson fans coming out of the woodwork believing his nonsense. He is suing so he must be innocent. 😒Anyone who has been abused knows that is a tactic. I have been threatened with fake lawyers and a fake lawsuit for 4 yrs.— EastVanGirl (@EastVanGirl1) March 4, 2022
I wonder why Marilyn Manson didn’t mention Annie Abrams in his lawsuit. thanks to her and her facebook posts we knew all of this about the coordinated attack and recruiting professional victims done by Evan and Illma Gore since day one— Smarty (@Ghazalloolla) March 3, 2022
AS SOON AS MARILYN MANSON FILED THAT LAWSUIT PEOPLE ARE LIKE, “I NEVER BELIEVED EVAN RACHEL WOOD.” GIRL WHAT???? CRIMINALS AND GUILTY PARTIES SUE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME, THAT DOESN’T MEAN SHE WAS LYING AND ALSO YOU’RE DISRESPECTFUL AS FUCK TO THE OTHER WOMEN FOR SAYING THAT SHIT— Tate 🦂🇺🇦 (@abominationmia_) March 3, 2022
Maybe one day people will learn, that when you make documentaries/false statements about people, you’re going to face the crime.— Doctor Soup🍲 (@iAmDrSoup) March 2, 2022
I’m so glad to see Marilyn Manson is going all in; people need to face the consequences of their actions.
I confess that I haven’t been following the Marilyn Manson case & was reserving judgment but this whole shit about Evan Rachel Wood forging a letter& impersonating an FBI agent is absolutely cray cray 🤯 https://t.co/t0PkK4gtp6 pic.twitter.com/UewFU4nuRw— Em🌙 🖤 ✨ · . * · . Some folk genuinely see Evan Rachel Wood as the Amber Heard to Marilyn Manson's Johnny Depp. Never mind the fact that Wood was only one of a shitload of women who had stories about Manson. Fuck the lot of you supporting him, and fuck your subpar, opposite of relevant performer.— Richard (@RichardOcelot) March 3, 2022
