Norman Reedus Suffers Head Injury In Accident On ‘The Walking Dead’ Set

'TWD' Final scenes Delayed Because Of Reedus' Head Injury

The actor plays as Daryl Dixon in the AMC television series.

On the set of The Walking Dead, Norman Reedus suffered a head injury. The mishap, as per a source, occurred on March 11 in Georgia, when the AMC series’ final episodes were being filmed.

“Norman suffered a concussion on set,” according to the actor’s spokesman, Jeffrey Chassen’s statement to Page Six, who also noted that Reedus is doing well and will be back on set shortly. “Thank you to everyone for their concern.”

It’s unknown whether or not Reedus was filming when the accident occurred, but an AMC representative additionally informed the publication that they will “push series wrap by a few days,” without providing any other information.

Several on-set incidents have occurred throughout The Walking Dead’s run, including the sad loss of stuntman John Bernecker in 2017. Reedus has harmed on production previously, with his arm being sliced off while making the fifth season’s “Them” episode in a barn in 2015. The wound was allegedly recorded on film, but it was never included in the final movie.

The 11th and final season of “The Walking Dead” is now airing. Since Season 1, Reedus has portrayed Daryl Dixon, a survivor of the zombie apocalypse in the series. His and co-star Melissa McBride’s characters will transition to a spinoff once TWD concludes in late 2022 or early 2023.

Reedus was also expected to participate for a part of one day at the “Fandemic Dead” Atlanta exhibition, which will take place March 18 to 20.

Sean Patrick Flannery, Jenna Elfman, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Melissa McBride, Seth Gilliam, and Cailey Fleming, as well as show veterans David Morrissey and Sarah Wayne Callies, will attend the self-described “comic convention experience” this weekend at the Georgia World Congress Center, as reported by Deadline.
