What could this “emergency surgery” possibly be for if it wasn't a cosmetic procedure?

“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice was brought to the hospital on March 23 and had an emergency medical operation, as previously reported.

Her spokesperson at that time revealed that the treatment performed on Thursday morning was non-cosmetic. Now, in an interview with E! News, her co-housewife Dolores Catania disclosed the cause for her operation.

“She had her appendix out,” she said. “Now it just takes time to heal. But it was emergency surgery so she’s in a lot of pain.”

Catania further stated that she recently contacted with Giudice to inquire about her well-being, only to learn that her best friend is in excruciating agony and is not feeling well.

Gia Giudice, the real housewife’s oldest daughter, confirmed her mother’s hospitalization in an Instagram story last week, by posting a photo of her in a hospital bed, writing, “Such a trooper. I love you.”

Joe Giudice, Gia’s father and Teresa’s ex-husband for 20 years, also posted a photo of Teresa on his Instagram account, writing, “Please pray for Teresa as she’s been admitted to the hospital.”

According to a video she shared to her Instagram Stories on Friday from inside her residence, the television personality has come home from the hospital.

In the footage, she can be seen cuddling up on the couch with her daughters Gia and Milania, who were lounging on the same vast white sectional.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

Appendix out.

Appendix recovery sucked. Of course, my incision got infected and that didn’t help with the recovery.
