Raven Alexis, an award-winning adult film actress, died last Wednesday in Las Vegas at the age of 35 after battling Crohn’s disease and contracting a life-threatening illness. Her spouse verified the news in videos shared on Instagram and Facebook the next day.
“She went in Sunday night with some complications and some stomach Crohn’s/colitis issues she had dealt with,” her husband stated in a video. “Ended up getting some infection and passed away yesterday at 12:44.”
He also explained that the infection resulted in septic shock as her body attempted to fight the illness, and after an infection, one’s blood pressure decreases to dangerously low levels, resulting in septic shock.
“I want all those people out there to know that she loved you all, she cared about you and I’m just so blessed to have her in my life and be a part of my life. She was the absolute world to me, the love of my life.”
Alexis began her career in the adult film industry as an internet model, according to Complex, with her own membership sites RavenAlexis.com and RavensPlayhouse.com.
Throughout her illustrious career, she was honored with multiple prizes, including the Fan Award for Wildest S-x Scene and the Best All-Girl Group S-x Scene in 2011 for her performance in “Body Heat.”
After informing Jon Lieberman on Sirius XM’s The Howard Stern Show that she had been diagnosed with stage four liver cancer, Alexis got mired in controversy, as reported by The Daily Mail.
“Chemo is hard…” she remarked in a September 2011 show, claiming that the disease had gone to her brain, “Not eating is really hard.”
Shortly after the show aired, her partner at the time denied her claims she had cancer, AVN stated. She subsequently claimed she survived the fatal disease thanks to the aid of high-alkaline mineral water, Ranker reported.
Her death comes after the loss of transgender adult performer Angelina Please, who left the adult film industry in a state of mourning. She had been missing for about a week when she was discovered dead in her Las Vegas apartment earlier this month.
