Jessica Simpson's weight loss journey proved that determination is the key.

Jessica Simpson shared a photo of herself wearing a bikini on her Instagram account recently. She uploaded the snap after she and her husband Eric Johnson and three kids went on a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She admitted that she gained and lost 100 pound not only once or twice – but thrice.

Jessica captioned the photo in her Instagram post: “I have gained and lost 100lbs 3x so I never thought this moment could or would happen, but I’m finally spring breakin’ wearin’ a BIKINI!!!!!!” She added, “Hard work, Determination, Self Love.”

In one of the recent episodes of the American talk show, The Real, the 41-year-old mother of three talked about her journey in losing weight. She revealed how she was able to lose 100 pound for the third time, and it took her three years to do it.

“I call it determined patience. I believe in setting small goals for yourself, because in my life and how I’ve done it, there’s easy ways to throw in the towel and just feel like it’s impossible,” Jessica said. She noted that her small goal helped her achieve her “main goal.”

Talking about the bikini photo she uploaded on her social media account, the singer/actress said she brought bathing suits for that specific trip without trying on a bikini. So, she got very emotional after she tried to wear the two-piece and told herself: “I did this, it happened.”

Jessica said she gained a lot of weight in her pregnancies, and the third pregnancy was the hardest one. She gave birth to her youngest child, daughter Birdie Mae, in March 2019. The singer/actress said that the baby girl gave her a “brutal stretch.”

Jessica Simpson says all bodies should be celebrated.

In a recent interview with People, Jessica has nothing but positive thoughts about all bodies – no matter the size or shape. She said that while it’s hard to see your flaws at first, everything is now changing and that every body should be celebrated.

“It’s hard to not see your flaws first, [but] I think that, as a society, things are changing. And that’s great because every body’s being celebrated,” Jessica said.

The singer/actress explained that she has been in “every size,” so she understands the mentality of all women. She added, “I understand loving where you’re at or wanting more, or wanting something better. I understand that.”

Over the past years, Jessica dealt with weight gain and weight loss while her life being an open book to the public. She was shocked when she lost 100 pound for the third time after three pregnancies. She said that she always celebrates her body, especially after she has gone through it.

“The fact that it made children is unreal, … but you just don’t ever think you’re going to fit back into things. It’s crazy. A woman’s body is phenomenal in what it can do.”

Jessica said she definitely embraced herself, and she has been happy at every size. The singer/actress never thought she would be comfortable wearing a bikini again during their recent family trip. She added that wearing a bikini again was not even her goal, so she was emotional about it.

“And for me, as a woman, to be able to look as good as I feel was a major moment,” Jessica continues. “You’re proud of yourself and you deserve it … [and you’re] understanding yourself and feeling good on the outside. When those two things click, the sky’s the limit.”

Did Jessica Simpson have a fitness plan for losing weight?

A few months after giving birth to her youngest child, Jessica debuted her 100 pound weight loss in September 2019. Many wanted to know how the singer/actress did this in a short period, so she and her personal trainer Harley Pasternak shared some details on how to achieve it.

According to Pasternak, he prefers Jessica to focus on her healthy habits rather than focusing on scales. They came up with a “more holistic approach” after she gave birth to Birdie Mae. It started with her walking 6,000 steps daily until she built up to 14,000 steps.

When it comes to the food she eats, Pasternak’s Body Reset Diet is what Jessica follows. Each day, the plan allows three meals, including fat, fiber, and protein. It also includes two snacks, consisting of a combo of protein and fiber or protein and fat.

In addition to these, Jessica completes a 45-minute session in the gym with Pasternak and trainer Sydney Liebes. Perhaps, the most important thing here is getting away from social media and getting at least 7 hours of sleep, which contributes to the weight loss journey of the singer/actress.

Is Jessica Simpson's fitness plan effective?

Jessica’s weight loss journey inspired many people, given that she didn’t only do it once – but thrice. But the question is, is the singer/actress’ fitness plan effective for those who want to lose weight in a short amount of time?

Australian journalist Stephanie Nuzzo followed Jessica’s fitness plan for two weeks, and she discovered several things about it. First, her approach to food is healthy and “impressive.” What’s interesting here is that she does not have a “cheat day.” Instead, she has “cheat meals.”

“Cheat days can start a negative relationship with food,” Stephanie’s trainer, Ben Putland of ACERO, said. “I tell my clients to eat as clean as they can because it’s great for you… but if you want to have a little bit of chocolate every few days, that’s not bad; it’s just a little higher in calories… It’s all about balance and making healthy lifestyle choices.”

Jessica’s daily steps is another highlight of her fitness plan. She began walking 6,000 steps a day before eventually building up 14,000 steps a day. It is vital to keep track of your steps since it is a way to see how active you are within the day.

Jessica’s training workout at the gym really takes dedication and determination to achieve the end goal. Although the result of the fitness plan varies from person to person, there’s still a positive outcome – and for Stephanie, her belly appeared flatter after following the steps.

Aside from the physical results, the journalist said that she noticed a difference in her mood and felt much happier during the days she’s doing the fitness plan. But, the bottom line here is that dedication and discipline are needed in order to lose weight and live a healthy life.
