This isn't the first time they've split up.
Dr. Jen Armstrong and Ryne Holliday have filed for divorce in Orange County Superior Court after eight years of being married. Jen additionally seeks legal and physical custody of their children, as well as visiting rights for the former professional poker player.
“Ryne and I are taking some time apart to focus on ourselves and our children,” the real housewife said in a statement to PEOPLE. “While we are very sad, we are hoping that we will heal and be even stronger as a family. We ask for patience as we navigate this new chapter in our lives.”
The “Real Housewives of Orange County” star listed “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for their separation in the lawsuit, which was filed last week. The plastic surgeon also wants spousal support for both parties to be terminated by the court.
This isn’t the first time they’ve split up; in February, she acknowledged to US Magazine that they had a temporary breakup after the reality show ended and her initial separation from the stay-at-home dad was eventually “healing” for the couple. The entrepreneur specifies their divorce date as September 8, 2021 in her court documents.
“We separated for a while and lived life without each other. And I think that made us have more of an appreciation for who the other person was and have a different outlook on getting back together and putting in the work to stay together,” she told the publication.
In a separate occasion, Jen’s Newport Beach property was listed for $6 million in March. According to Page Six, she admitted she’d briefly split up with Ryne before selling. “We are hoping our new home is a place for a clean slate … to work on our marriage and family,” she remarked.
