Unathi's weight gain and weight loss problems.

Unathi revealed something about her weight loss struggle in January when she posted a comparison shot of her before and after physique.

“A year ago I was NOT happy with my body coz of lockdown. My daughter thought she was getting a younger sibling (which she still wants now😩) and would tell everyone how excited she was at the prospect😂😩🥺 I had regressed with my body goals,” her caption began.

“On NYE 2020 I went for a sunset run ALONE at the stairs and promised myself to make sure that I would feel VERY different this time round Dec 2021. Which I did because I kept my promise to myself.”

“Goodluck with your goals. You’re WORTH it beloved💋 I look at these pics to remind me of why I started. 2012 vs 2022,” she concluded her post.

In an interview with Women’s Health magazine, the actress explained that she realized the extra pounds she gained after giving birth to her sons wouldn’t immediately disappear. In fact, it took her a year to shed those pounds she gained but hasn’t started until she gained more.

She gave in to her body’s desires at that moment, such as toasted sandwiches and potatoes washed down with chocolate milk, resulting in weight gain that began to impair how she felt about herself.

“I didn’t want to look like my husband’s aunty – I wanted to go back to being his sexy girlfriend,” she said. This fueled her desire to begin her weight-loss journey. “Losing the weight was going to be as much fun as gaining it because, let’s face it: gaining weight is mostly fun.”

What is Unathi's workout routine?

The actress is active on social media when it comes to revealing ways that have worked for her when it comes to weight loss, most notably her time in the gym.
She can be seen doing cardio, weightlifting, strength training, and other exercises in the videos she has uploaded. She also attends classes and does group workouts.
Aside from gym training, a colleague pushed the television personality to participate in the Unlimited Dusi canoe marathon, and she has never turned down a challenge since.

“I felt much healthier and had more energy. Had I not started this weight-loss regime, I’d never have been able to take on the Unlimited Dusi. I probably wouldn’t even have been able to fit into the canoe!” she continued.

“I paddled for an hour and a half every day – which works out to about 10km per day – and straight after that, I’d hit the road for a six-kay jog.”

Is there a specific diet that Unathi followed?

Unathi doesn’t follow a specific or even a rigorous diet since she believes that eating well and exercising regularly are equally vital. “Eighty percent of weight loss depends on a good eating plan,” she added in the same interview with the publication.

Unathi revealed in a separate interview that one of her secrets to losing weight is to reduce her sugar consumption drastically and to only indulge in sweet treats on rare occasions.

“I immediately started losing mass on my stomach and started aging backward. Sugar is one of the most addictive substances in the world. Some argue that it is the most addictive. It certainly is the most aging substance in the world without a doubt.”

The singer went on to say that she inherited her mother’s sweet tooth and that she occasionally battled it. Despite her difficulties, she never gave up trying to make the best judgments she could.

“Thought I should share, try and reduce your sugar intake. It’ll be hard in the beginning because you will have cravings, but it’s worth it,” she concluded.

Unathi's weight loss advice for people considering starting their own

Unathi isn’t greedy when it comes to discussing weight-loss procedures that have worked for her. She recommended that people buy a garment that they want to fit into but not go on the scale.

Furthermore, be focused and continually push yourself to your limits, as well as have a passion for the game. “I’m feeling fit and strong and love the discipline involved in training.”
