The Game Season 9 Brief Recap

Episode 1 - The Kiss Fallout Episode

When Blue sees Keira (Lauren London) and Malik (Hosea Chanchez) together, he starts a fight with Malik, which is caught on camera. Tasha does everything she can to hide the Blue/Malik brawl. And Chardonnay (Brandy) goes on national television to reveal Jason’s (Coby Bell) steroid use.

Episode 2 - The Spin Control Episode

Blue (Jay Ellis), Keira, and Malik must deal with the ramifications of their elevator brawl, which puts Blue in the hot seat. Chardonnay has an amazing encounter with Roger Keith Jr. (Michael Beach) that leads to a spiritual awakening. Jason and Kelly (Brittany Daniel) make an unexpected commitment, putting Jason’s position as coach in peril.

Episode 3 - The Dead Episode

Jason tries to mediate between Blue and Malik who wishes to apologize to Keira. Tasha (Wendy Raquel Robinson) faces a family problem when her father passes away. Brittany (Adriyan Rae) informs her parents of some unexpected Chardonnay news.

Episode 4 - Dust in the Wind

During Walter’s memorial service, Malik’s reading difficulties are revealed. After Malik’s humiliating reading, he and Kelly form an alliance. While burying her father, Tasha is able to help Blue and Chardonnay genuinely say goodbye to their failed relationships.

Episode 5 - Hashtag My Bad

Keira finally comes to terms with her love for Malik and confronts him. Meanwhile, Tasha is being profiled in People Magazine as a “Super Mom,” but mayhem ensues when Roger Keith makes a provocative statement, and the Sabers, Sunbeams, and Kai get involved.

Episode 6 - Get Up, Stand Up

The Sabers’ strike problem to a conclusion. Kelly and Jason hold a town hall gathering to rally their fans, but Blue’s powerful speech wins him over. Keira and Malik go on a date and come face to face with their pasts. Roger Jr. is encouraged by Chardonnay to speak up to his father.

Episode 7 - Clip It... Clip It Good

Jason recalls the highlights and lowlights over the previous nine years, including encounters with Kelly, Chardonnay, Tasha, Malik, Derwin (Pooch Hall), Melanie (Tia Mowry), Blue, and Keira, during a late-night work session with Blue.

Episode 8 - The Crying Game

After Malik defends his and Keira’s relationship, Tasha’s attempt to reunite Malik and Yana (Danielle Nicolet) fails. Chardonnay accepts Roger Junior’s date after receiving advice from an unexpected source. Jason and Kelly make their proposal to Roger Junior and eccentric investor Herbie Lesser (Richard Fancy) to buy the Sabers, but things go wrong when Jason becomes envious.

Episode 9 - What More Can I Say?

When Jason and Kelly learn that Herbie Lesser has purchased the Sabers, they are stunned. Jason’s luck continues to worse when he discovers that the Sabers have contracted food sickness. Meanwhile, when Rick Fox and Pookie ( Rockmond Dunbar) arrive to Tasha’s house at the same moment, chaos erupts. Keira begins to have doubts about her connection with Malik, while Chardonnay begins to have doubts about her relationship with Roger Junior.

Episode 10 - Pow Pow Pow!

Rick Fox unites with Chardonnay when Pookie inadvertently shoots him while driving him to the hospital. Malik also leads the Sabers to a comeback victory, advancing them to the playoffs.

Melanie and Derwin reunite in a particular way because Melanie is expecting twins and has decided to return to San Diego.

Kelly and Jason join Herbie Lesser on the mat in an attempt to rescue Jason’s job. Malik makes a proposal to Keira. In Las Vegas, Chardonnay awakens. Melanie and Derwin are the proud parents of healthy twins.

Tasha and Pookie have a happy ending by moving into a new house together, while Keira pushes forward with her job. Melanie and Derwin swing by the Sabers stadium to find their friends.

Release Date for the Game Revival

The Game reboot will premiere on Paramount Plus on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, which was perhaps the most thrilling and important revelation made by Paramount Plus during its TCA presentation. New episodes will be released weekly, similar to other Paramount Plus originals, with a total of 10 episodes planned for the revival series’ initial season.

The Game Revival Cast

Not only will The Game return, but numerous popular members of the cast will reprise their roles in the revived series on Paramount Plus. Raquel Robinson as sports agent Tasha Mack, Hosea Chanchez as player Malik Wright, Brittany Daniel as Kelly Pitts, Pooch Hall as Derwin Davis, and Coby Bell as former footballer Jason Pitts are among those expected to return for the forthcoming revival series.

Adriyan Rae will play Brittany Pitts, the daughter of Jason and Kelly Pitts; Vaughn Hebron will play Jamison Fields, an undrafted free agent; Analisa Velez will play Raquel Navarro, Brittany’s best friend; Tim Daly will play Colonel Ulysses S. Thatcher, a self-made billionaire; and Toby Sandeman will play Garret Evans, the league’s top football player.

The Game Revival Synopsis

The Game returns with a new cast and a new location, moving from San Diego to Sin City, to give a modern-day analysis of Black culture via the lens of pro football. As they compete for fame, riches, respect, and love – all while trying to maintain their souls – the squad will face racism, misogyny, classism, and more.
