What methods did Bharti Singh follow to lose weight?

Bharti decided to try fasting after hearing how her co-stars benefitted from the method. Most of the celebrities she talked to mentioned how they would fast for long hours, prompting her to do the same. Yet, she admitted that she had a hard time adjusting before her body got used to it.

“While initially, I would crave food late at night, I worked hard on it, and now my body has accepted the new change,” the comedian shared.

Bharti followed intermittent fasting to lose weight without having to do extreme exercises. The method allows an individual to follow a diet divided into fasting and non-fasting hours. Per reports, the TV personality followed a specific plan.

Bharti was said to eat nothing after 7 pm in the evening. Her next meal would only be in the afternoon. Long fasting hours can reportedly flush out the toxins in the body and speed up metabolism. It also offers several health benefits and is trusted both by Hollywood and Bollywood stars.

What else did Bharti Singh do to manage her weight?

The comedian often talks about her food, and her diet plan allowed her to eat everything and anything. She didn’t have to restrict her diet because she had already gone into the fasting stage. In her Instagram posts, she shared that Makhan (butter) and paranthas (flatbreads) were the usual foods she enjoys.

But although Bharti still enjoys the foods she likes, the TV personality also knows the importance of portion control. It is crucial to be part of losing weight, as you’re being mindful of how much you consume. Through this, you’ll eat what the body needs rather than overindulging.

In addition to portion control, Bharti is also timing her meals. Despite her hectic shooting schedules and erratic lifestyle, she still finds balance in everything she does. Since she’s into intermittent fasting, the comedian eats her meals according to a strict routine.

Meanwhile, the TV personality’s weight loss is all because of intermittent fasting. She didn’t go to the gym or follow any rigorous workouts to lose weight. She credited her 16 kg weight loss to changing her eating habits and living a healthy lifestyle.

Is an intermittent diet recommended to all?

Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern where you don’t eat for a period of time each day or week. Over the past years, the method has become a fitness trend. But while many celebrities are into it, is the process actually recommended for everyone?

Senior Dietician Shruti Bharadwaj said intermittent fasting helps the body get rid of excess and visceral fat. Other benefits include insulin resistance, gut health, promoting heart health, preventing skin problems, relieving constipation, and helping hormonal balance.

“If you are taking the right guidance and following this diet in a correct way, it will definitely help. Everyone has different body tendencies, and a qualified dietician can advise keeping in view the lifestyle and eating patterns a person follows,” Bharadwaj noted.

In intermittent fasting, the food is broken down by enzymes in the digestive system. Since those who follow this method don’t eat snacks between meals, insulin levels go down, and fat cells release the stored sugar for the body’s daily requirements.

“Intermittent fasting allows insulin levels to go down and burn fat,” the dietician further explained.

Bharadwaj made it clear that intermittent fasting is not for everyone, especially for pregnant women and those who just gave birth. The dietician suggested not to follow this method or any diet in the first six months after giving birth.

“During pregnancy or after pregnancy, people are in a hurry to reduce weight. In the first six months (after becoming a mother), which are also very crucial, keeping in mind the lactation period, one should not go for detox, keto, or intermittent diet,” Bharadwaj noted.
