She even persisted in working on "Yellowstone" although claiming to be too ill to do so.

The California Department of Insurance reported on Monday that actress Q’orianka Kilcher, who is well-known for starring in “Yellowstone,” has just been charged with workers compensation fraud.

According to information obtained by Variety, Kilcher got $96,838 in benefits as a result of neck and shoulder injuries she sustained while shooting “Dora and the Lost City of Gold.”

She even reportedly continued to work on “Yellowstone” despite receiving temporary disability insurance payments and alerting the doctor that the pain was too intense for her to continue working.

The California Department of Insurance further outlined how the actress saw a doctor a few times that year before discontinuing care and failing to communicate with the insurance provider managing her claim on behalf of her employer.

“When told about Kilcher’s recent employment history, the doctor on her claim stated if they had been aware of it they would have never granted her the disability payments,” the Department of Insurance added.

“From October 14, 2019, through September 9, 2021, Kilcher’s received $96,838 in undeserved disability benefits.”

Her legal team denied the allegations in a statement to the media, asserting that she had never “intentionally” obtained benefits to which she did not believe she was lawfully entitled.

“As such, Ms. Kilcher will vigorously defend herself and asks that she be afforded the presumption of innocence both in and outside the courthouse,” attorney Michael Becker stated.

Kilcher turned herself up but also entered a not guilty plea. Scheduled on August 7, 2022, is her court appearance.
