This comes after his former manager recently served him with a $3 million lawsuit.
Recently, Ricky Martin has been in the news due to allegations of a sexual relationship and domestic violence made by his 21-year-old nephew. He has been charged with incest and even subject to a restraining order.
The revelation was initially reported by Marca, who also claimed that the Latin music star and his nephew had a seven-month romance during which they reportedly indulged in physical and psychological abuse following her purported breakup with Martin.
Furthermore, he was the subject of a domestic violence-related restraining order in Puerto Rico earlier this month, although the identity of the accused victim was withheld. However, Eric Martin, his brother, has come forward and said that Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, is the name of the victim.
The publication further stated that under Puerto Rico’s incest laws, if it is proven that he committed this crime, he would be subject to a term of 50 years in jail. The trial is scheduled to begin on July 21.
“We are confident that when the true facts come to light in this matter, our client Ricky Martin will be fully vindicated,” the legal team for Martin remarked.
Additionally, his attorney Marty Singer released a separate statement, telling Entertainment Tonight, “Unfortunately the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges”
“Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be — involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.”
“The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting,” Singer added. “We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts.”
Martin also has another case pending against him after his former manager served him with a $3 million lawsuit just lately.
