The horrifying video of two men defending themselves from an elephant charge has gone viral on social media.

Elephants are among the most peaceful mammals. Thus, it is unusual to see one of them suddenly charge at a person since they are frequently perceived as being friendly and approachable by people.
In the video, the two men, who are probably a visitor and wildlife rangers, gently approach the elephant. However, after a few whiles, the elephant charges at the men, swinging its ears and creating a cloud of dust.

Instead of panicking, when the elephant rushes toward them, the men don’t run; they stand their ground and stare at the animal.
When the animal is closed to the men, it stops on its track, grunts, and then moves backward slowly. The men, though, remain standing still.
The video posted on Twitter now has more than 2.7 million views, 93.9k like, and 12.3k retweets. Twitter users are commenting below the viral video.

“It takes so very brave heart and experience,” a user wrote. Some suspected that the men had a weapon, which is why the animal abruptly stopped: “It helps when you have a rifle.”

Some users didn’t hesitate to share a joke regarding the matter, saying, “And knowing that elephants bluff most of the time,” another user replied, “I’ve won so much money playing poker with elephants.”

Naturally, many citizens thought the men didn’t try to run away or fight because they “knew” the elephant was pretending to charge. Some, however, believe that the men are in possession of a weapon that caused the animal to halt in its tracks.
