Her condition has not yet gotten better.
After suffering serious burn injuries in a vehicle accident in Los Angeles, Anne Heche remains in a coma. She is still in a serious state, and as of yet, there has been no indication that she is improving.
In a statement to CNN on Monday, the actress’ representative said: “Over the weekend a representative stated that Anne was in stable condition but that information was inaccurate.”
This was in reference to Heche’s publicist, who on Saturday issued a positive statement stating that she was in a stable condition. However, according to her rep, the actress, who went into a coma as a result of the accident, has apparently always been in serious condition.
“She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention. She is currently being treated at the Grossman Burn Center.”
As we previously reported, Heche suffered severe burn injuries in a single-vehicle collision on Friday in Los Angeles after both her car and the house she crashed into were entirely engulfed in flames.
She reportedly struck a Los Angeles apartment building’s garage in a blue Mini Cooper she was driving and a few minutes later, she caused a fire by crashing into a neighboring house which was eventually became entirely damaged as the fire become more serious.
The Los Angeles property belongs to Lynne Mishele, who was there when Heche crashed and a fire started in her home. The Durands, Mishele’s next-door neighbors, have created a GoFundMe page to help with her rehabilitation and life reconstruction.
“Lynne lives with her beautiful pups Bree and Rueban, and tortoise Marley in the Mar Vista home that was destroyed this week by a car driving into the home at a high rate of speed, catching the house on fire,” the GoFundMe statememt reads.
“Lynne lost her entire lifetime of possessions, mementos, all equipment for her business including her laptop and iPad, all of her clothing and basic necessities, and all household items.”
“With firefighters’ help, she was able to pull a few damaged sentimental belongings from the wreckage. Everything else is gone,” the statement added.
“A kind and generous person, Lynne is always first to offer help to others. Today we are asking the community to come together and help Lynne start over. Please, please join us – 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser are going directly to Lynne Mishele.”
