Actress Anne Heche has peacefully passed away after her life support had been taken off. This comes after her representative announced that she was “brain dead,” rendering her legally dead in accordance with California law.
“Anne Heche has been peacefully taken off life support,” her representative informed TMZ, which broke the news. Her organs have now been donated after being matched with an organ beneficiary.
Heche was involved in a single-vehicle incident last week in Los Angeles, and as we previously reported, both her car and the house she crashed into were entirely engulfed in flames. She had terrible burn injuries and was in a coma as a result.
She caused a fire by crashing into a neighboring house which was eventually became entirely damaged as the fire become more serious. Furthermore, the fire caused Heche to sustain serious burn wounds.
However, the actress didn’t make it at she has passed away at the age of 53 on Friday. Her death comes after her family and friends informed multiple outlets that she is “not expected to survive” because of the incident, which caused her to “suffered a catastrophic anoxic brain damage.”
A statement on her demise reads, “We have lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend.”
“Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact.”
