The two seemed to have a friendly competition between the separate universe they're playing in.
Mark Ruffalo compared the MCU and Star Wars in terms of the narratives they each produced, and Ewan McGregor fired back. There’s no need to be concerned because it appeared that they were competing amicably.
Ruffalo has starred in a number of Marvel films as Bruce Banner or better known as Hulk. The original six, which some fans considered to be the core of the comic book and movie franchise, include his character.
On the other hand, the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi was played by McGregor in a series of Star Wars movies. Also, the Disney+ miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi from 2022 featured his comeback as the character.
While talking about the upcoming Disney+ series “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” Ruffalo compared Star Wars and Marvel during an interview with Metro, saying, “If you watch a Star Wars, you’re pretty much going to get the same version of Star Wars each time.”
“It might have a little bit of humor. It might have a little bit of different animation. But you’re always, really, in that same kind of world. But with Marvel you can have a whole different feeling even within the Marvel Universe.”
The “Star Wars” actor opted to respond to the “Marvel” star’s remark in an interview with Liam Crowley just a few days later, confirming that the criticism had reached him.
“That’s the beautiful thing about how passionate Disney, Lucasfilm, all of us are, who are involved with it is from the beginning is we try really hard not to let anything of the bad just to protect your experience of seeing it for the first time,” he explained of his experience starring in Star Wars.
When asked if he intended to join the MCU, he responded: “I don’t know. I don’t know that I want to do that because I love doing all different kinds of work. It’s true. I love to direct.”
“I’d like to be in the theater again. I definitely want to do this again, you know, I’m in this Star Wars world. I feel like I don’t need another. I’m not looking for that anyway.”
“I feel like I shouldn’t say I wouldn’t do it because in two years time you’ll be like, ‘You said you were never going to do this!’ But I’m not looking for it particularly,” he added.
