The massive Slide in Belle Isle Park in Michigan was reopened on Friday, but it was quickly closed after parents expressed concerns for the security of their kids.
When people see things they can try as adults, they often let their inner child out through their bodies. Therefore, despite the insufficient safety precautions, individuals chose to test this particular giant slide.
Since then, Twitter users have been sharing the video of the commotion at the historic ride. Numerous people are shown cascading down the slide, which sent them into the air before plummeting to the ground with a thud.
The giant slide at Belle Isle Park in Michigan was open for only 4 hours before workers shut it down to make adjustments.

The six-lane slide, which appears to be composed of tin metal, is what causes individuals to launch themselves into the air before falling to the ground multiple times.
The video was posted on August 20 by user @artcombatpod on Twitter. The clip is currently garnering more than 11.3 million views and 97.2k likes.
“Hello, Giant Slide participants. We are currently closed. We are going to be making some adjustments to the speed that we have seen users coming down today.”
“Hopefully, after our small adjustment, we will be back up and running, and the slide will be slower for more enjoyment. We will update as soon as possible the hours of operation,” written in the post; however, the slide wasn’t closed that long.
A video demonstrating how to ride down the slide was also shared. A later post stated that operators “scrubbed down the surface and started to spray a little water on the slide between rides to help control the speed.”
The Giant Slide costs $1 to ride down and is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until the weekend of Labor Day, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Fortunately, there haven’t been any severe injuries or accidents associated with the Giant Slide, and hopefully, there won’t be any in the future.
