He was just charged with domestic abuse last year and is now dealing with new allegations.
Devin Ratray, who is most known for his role in the 1990 family classic “Home Alone,” is currently the subject of an investigation into rape allegations made against him by a former friend.
According to CNN, who broke the story, Ratray was charged with sexually assaulting Lisa Smith in his Manhattan apartment five years ago and claimed that he had drugged her prior to the heinous act.
She reported the alleged assault to the police not long after it happened. Prosecutors at the time wrongly assumed she wanted to remain anonymous and refrain from filing charges, therefore her case wasn’t pursued at the time.
The lawsuit was therefore concluded. Smith, however, was inspired to get in touch with prosecutors once more over a police complaint she had submitted in 2017 after hearing of the actor’s arrest in Oklahoma.
The said Oklahoma arrest of Ratray happened last year after he was charged with domestic violence in a separate incident, for allegedly attempting to choke his ex-girlfriend. He entered a not guilty plea and was freed after posting a $25,000 bond.
The media outlet added that Smith has recently had her phone and text records investigated, is “in touch” with the law enforcement officials investigating the case, and that a prosecutor has contacted potential witnesses.
For his part, the “Blue Ruin” actor, who acknowledged remembering the night with Smith almost five years prior, refuted her rape claim by asserting, “We did not have sex.” No charges have been brought against Ratray in relation to Smith’s claims.
