Nick Jonas' Early Life
Jonas, the third son of Denise and Paul Kevin Jonas, was born in Dallas, Texas. Nick’s father is a songwriter, musician, and former Assemblies of God church ordained minister, and his mother is a former sign language teacher and singer. Nick has a younger brother named Frankie and two older brothers named Joe and Kevin. Jonas was brought up in Wyckoff, New Jersey, and was educated at home by his mother. At six, Jonas was discovered in a barber shop where his mother was getting her hair cut and was referred to a professional show business manager. The single piqued the interest of Columbia Records, which led to Jonas signing with Columbia and I.N.O. to release his debut studio album. “Dear God” was released as the project’s lead single, followed by a re-recorded version of “Joy to the World.” Jonas co-wrote music for the album with his two older brothers, who also provided vocal harmonies for the release.
