The competition kicks off with the flambé challenge. Then, flames added a good dramatic touch to television. They revealed whether the participants could execute a particular elegant but not overly tricky cooking method.

After that, they have thirty minutes to make a sushi platter. The group will then have to cook Vietnamese and Korean food. Guest judges include celebrity chef Ming Tsai and sushi specialist Hiroshi Shima.

Not merely a dish served with raw seafood, sushi is anything that includes sushi rice.

Episode 3 - Food For the People

Top Chef S2 - Episode 5 Social Service

For their quickfire challenge on this week’s “Top Chef” episode, the cooks are given mounds of disgusting leftover animal parts, including lamb hearts, pig’s blood, and chicken feet. They asked that you make delicious dishes with the excess items.

The fact that they only had two hours made the Quickfire challenge challenging because a lot of offal requires lengthy, slow cooking, parboiling or soaking, or careful preparation.

The guest judge is Chef Michelle Bernstein.

Episode 6 - Thanksgiving

The only challenging aspect of the canned food challenge was the 15-minute time limit. The central plot twist in this episode was the selection of five participants as the winners.

The guest judge is Anthony Bourdain.

Episode 13 - Hawaii Finale Part 2

Top Chef S2 - Ilan Hall became the Top Chef season 2 champion
