Their overall live television feud was uncomfortable, not just for them but also for those fans who watched it.
Bethenny Frankel is no stranger to conflict. The reality star and entrepreneur is known for her outspoken personality and willingness to speak her mind. So it should come as no surprise that during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” Frankel got into a heated argument with Jeff Lewis and host Andy Cohen.
The argument began when the Bravo executive asked about Frankel’s new podcast, “ReWives.” Cohen said that he believed the podcast was “hypocritical” and detailed how Frankel had been disparaging her fellow housewives for the past three years.
This is because she has criticized the series and is now delving “deep” into it. Frankel responded that Cohen’s critique was unjustified and was not in line with the information she had received informally.
Nonetheless, she countered that she wasn’t disparaging the cast of the program, and Cohen shot back, “You’ve called it boring, toxic, women against other women.”
For her feud with Lewis, Frankel said that the fact that she chose to leave the show set her apart from other housewives. Then Lewis revealed that his interior design series “fired” him, which prompted Frankel to remark, “Right, and that’s why you’re so bitter.”
“No, I’m not bitter at all. I landed in a better place,” he defended, to which she replied, “Right, exactly, that’s what they all say.” Despite his continued claims that he was now in a better situation, Frankel warned him to “not come for this unless you wanna get shot.”
The author recently disclosed on social media that she had phone conversations with both guys, stating, “What a circus of emotions today. Had a phone call with Andy, had a phone call with Jeff Lewis.”
“Read so many comments. Only did two podcasts on this topic. Love you all, gotta have a good sense of humor about everything, and also, gotta accept people’s apologies and be transparent and roll with the punches.”
On his podcast “Jeff Lewis Live,” Lewis spoke about the matter on Thursday as well. He said that although he first believed that things were amicable between them after the show, he later discovered that she had been upset with him.
He said that he knew her well and had previously been on the program with her. Additionally, he said that he could make fun of her since he knew she’ll respond by fighting back, which she did.
Lewis stated that everything was perfect between them after they finished filming the “WWHL” show and that Frankel had given him and his daughter Monroe a present.
But after expressing his gratitude to the businesswoman for the present, he realized from her icy response that something was wrong and subsequently found out via her podcast after she labeled him “toxic” and “nasty.”
Of course, he made the decision to talk it out, and they had a pleasant conversation, during which he apologized.
