It’s official! TLC’s Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and actor Matthew Lawrence are dating. The pair have been spotted out and about together over the past few months, and it seems like things are heating up between them.
While Chilli is usually pretty private regarding her personal life, she took to Instagram to share their relationship and make it Instagram official. She posted a video of them dancing to “Take On Me” on Instagram with the hashtags: “#newyearsshenanigans #onesiegang #wecute.”
Chilli and Matthew Lawrence have been friends for years, but they only recently started dating. Their relationship was verified by Chilli’s representative, Christal Jordan, to PEOPLE, who said, “I’ve been with Chilli since 2005, and I’ve never seen her this in love,” her representative said.
“She is glowing. They are really cute together,” Jordan added, noting that they spent Thanksgiving and Christmas in Atlanta, where the “Boy Meets World” actor got to know Chilli’s family.
Many fans believe that the two have been dating for much longer, as they have been spotted together on multiple occasions. For instance, they were seen getting in the water together on a Waikiki beach in August.
However, Matthew and his friends just showed up to see Chilli’s performance, which just so happened to be taking place on the island. Despite multiple rumors, the two have not confirmed anything until now.
Their relationship comes after Matthew’s recent divorce from former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Cheryl Burke last year, which was justified by irreconcilable differences.
They had been married since May 2019, and Cheryl specified the split date as January 7, 2022. As for Chilli, she has a 25-year-old son named Tron, who she had with her ex-partner and producer Dallas Austin.
This is such exciting news for fans of the 90s R&B group “TLC,” as Chili was one of the lead singers. On the other hand, Matthew is also a well-known actor, starring in films like “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “The Office Mix-Up.”
