This time, rather than a co-housewife or housewives from another franchise, it’s them vs. one of the greatest rappers of all time for this drama.

The “Real Housewives of Potomac” stars Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon are the target of the lawsuit filed by Eminem against them over the name of their podcast, “Reasonably Shady,” which he claims infringes on his trademark.

According to court documents acquired by Page Six, which first reported the news, the two housewives’ trademark registration for “Reasonably Shady” was contested by Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, on February 14.

The record producer worries that granting the reality stars a trademark for their show will “damage” the branding of his company (Shady Records). Not only that, but he also thinks that their podcast name would “cause confusion in the minds of consumers,” who have been familiar with him since the late ’90s under the alias “Slim Shady.”

Having said that, Eminem has been referring to himself as “Shady” for a very long time and even trademarked it, but Bryant and Dixon only recently began using the word when their podcast gained popularity in 2021.

A few weeks prior to the “Recovery” artist’s opposition, the “RHOP” stars submitted a trademark application for the name of their podcast with the intention of starting a business that would sell items various merchandise.

Bryant and Dixon will probably be ordered by the court to stop using the name “Reasonably Shady” since Eminem has a compelling case for trademark infringement. On the other hand, it could also be difficult for the rapper to argue that the usage of the word “shady” has really harmed his reputation.

The Trademark Trial and Appeal Board may or may not agree with Eminem on this point. Yet it’s clear that the rapper firmly believes that the podcast infringes on his brand and could confuse consumers.

As of this writing, Bryant and Dixon have not yet responded to the rapper’s legal complaint against them, but they have until March 26 to do so.

Reactions to Eminem Files A Complaint Against Gizelle Bryant And Robyn Dixon’s “Reasonably Shady” Podcast

Eminem coming out of retirement to sue Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon is not the plot I saw coming but the plot twist they deserve.

No one saw reasonably shady and thought of Eminem or slim shady. This a reach and doing too much
