George Watsky, professionally known as Watsky, is an American musician, composer, record producer, author, and poet. When he won the Youth Speaks Grand Slam Poetry Championship and the Brave New Voices International Poetry Slam Championship in 2006, people started to notice his skills nationally and worldwide.

At the age of 15 is when Watsky began writing slam poetry. He participated on the team that finished fourth in the 2005 national competition while still a teenager and won a good number of slams in the Bay Area.
