Politics and lies are to blame for his retirement.

Law Roach, the stylist who puts together Zendaya’s outfits that make news, posted this revelation on Instagram. We all know that Roach is the most famous stylist in Hollywood right now as he dresses everyone from Celine Dion to Megan Thee Stallion, and many of Zendaya’s outfits that make headlines are designed by him. So, it was no surprise that everyone freaked out when Roach announced he was leaving the fashion industry.

This happened after two days after styling several celebrities for the Oscars red carpet; Roach posted an image of “retired” on Instagram with the words:

“My Cup is empty. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and my career. I’m so thankful to everyone who gave me a chance to take their picture. If this business were just about selling clothes, I would keep doing it for the rest of my life. Politics, lies, and false stories got to me in the end. You win, and I’m out.”

Fan detectives went to Twitter to find out why the decision was made. In one clip found again, Roach talked about his poor treatment in the business and how he feels about it. “There’s no way you can treat me… In this business, I don’t owe anyone anything. So I’ll leave all of that.”

Right away, Roach’s comment section was flooded with requests from other stylists, fashion designers, celebrities, and fans for him to take back what he said or admit that it was all a joke.

Roach didn’t say much about the lies and false narratives he’s had to deal with. Still, many fans on Twitter pointed to a video from the recent Louis Vuitton fashion show in which Zendaya snagged the last seat in the front row while wearing a show-stopping tiger-printed outfit from the brand.

Fans of his work have also started posting their favorite red-carpet looks he has made over the years. Law Roach has worked with many stars, but Zendaya was his most famous and long-term client. He is known as her fairy godmother at the 2019 Met Gala, where she wore a Cinderella-inspired dress.

Roach even went to the Fall/Winter 2023 Versace show at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California, less than a week before the news came out.

In November 2022, the Council of Fashion Designers of America gave Roach the first stylist award. During the ceremony, Kerry Washington told the story of Roach’s rise from humble beginnings in Chicago to dressing then-up-and-coming actress Zendaya in some of the most memorable red-carpet looks.

In March 2022, Roach and Zendaya visited the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills, California. The stylist, a judge on HBO Max’s Legendary competition show, just dressed Zendaya in two vintage outfits for the 2023 NAACP Image Awards and two pink gowns for the 2023 SAG Awards, which made headlines.

Roach also worked with Hailee Steinfeld, Megan Thee Stallion, Kerry Washington, and Zendaya’s Euphoria co-star Hunter Schafer for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party a few days ago. It still needs to be clarified if Roach’s words are final or if there’s more to the story behind his first revelation.
