After calling police officers “pigs” and charging them with a steel bar on Sunday, a California man was shot and died.
One netizen quipped, “You shouldn’t hurt people’s feelings,” after this incident of a man calling the cops “pigs” while running towards them with steel. According to a bodycam, the video was taken at 6 a.m. on Sunday in Oxnard, California.
The man was identified as Adam Barcenas, 60 years old, storming toward the three officers while brandishing a five-foot steel bar. Adam can be heard shouting, “Hey, you f**king pigs!”

According to the officers, they were talking to a suspected drunk driver before a man with a 5-foot steel bar attacked them. Barcenas challenged the Oxnard police officers who were looking into a DUI.
Barcenas called the officers “pigs” and said, “I hate you” on the video. However, he was told by officers to back off, but as he moved closer to one, the cop opened fire with four shots.
According to a news release from the Oxnard Police Department, Barcenas disobeyed the officers’ orders and kept moving aggressively and threatening in their direction.
Barcenas was shot by three gunshots. A different officer shot her taser, but it didn’t affect Barcenas as it didn’t go through his skin.
After being brought to Ventura County Medical Center, Barcenas passed away a short while later. The conflict did not result in any injuries to the cops.
According to departmental protocol, the shooting-related police have been placed on paid administrative leave.
The Oxnard Police Chief, Jason Benites, released his statement: “Whenever there is an officer-involved shooting, or the officers are otherwise involved in a fatal incident, three separate investigations are set into motion.”
