With $1, she only wanted to prove her innocence.

Gwyneth Paltrow has been awarded $1 in damages for her controversial ski accident trial. The verdict was announced on Thursday afternoon. The jury determined she was not responsible for the 2016 collision with retired doctor Terry Sanderson.

After receiving the news, Paltrow was seen smiling, whereas Sanderson shook his head in defeat. When the incident transpired, the Oscar-winning actress was at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, with her husband, Brad Falchuk, his two children, and her children, Apple and Moses.

Three years later, Sanderson accused Paltrow of leaving him with a traumatic brain injury, fractured ribs, and a loss of enjoyment of life; she denied the allegations. Sanderson initially sought damages over $3 million, but his attorneys subsequently reduced the amount to $300,000.

Paltrow countersued Sanderson for $1 in symbolic damages and her attorney’s fees, alleging that Sanderson had caused the collision. “Well, I lost a half-day of skiing,” she stated on the first day of her March 24 testimony. Her deadpan apology for informing Sanderson that he skied into her “f—king back” also commanded attention.

She apologized for her foul language in front of the court at one point. When asked if her symbolic \$1 countersuit was inspired by Taylor Swift, who countersued radio DJ David Mueller for the same amount in 2017, Paltrow minimized her connections to the pop star.

“I would not say we’re good friends. We are amicable,” she stated. “I have previously brought my children to one of her concerts, but we rarely communicate.” In addition to hearing Paltrow’s polarizing reflections on her encounter with Sanderson, viewers anticipated her elegant courtroom attire.

She stunned netizens with G. by Goop pieces. Additionally, there are designer items by Celine, Prada, and Proenza Schouler. Gwyneth Paltrow is pleased with the verdict and grateful to the jury after prevailing in her Utah ski accident trial.

“I felt that acceding to a false claim compromised my integrity,” the 50-year-old actress wrote on her Instagram Story Thursday against a white background.

She added, “I am pleased with the verdict, and I am grateful to Judge Holmberg and the jury for their diligence and thoughtfulness in handling this case.” The verdict was read aloud in court after less than three hours of deliberation. Paltrow smiled slightly upon hearing the news.

Reportedly, as the actress exited the courtroom, she murmured to Sanderson, “I wish you well,” He replied, “Thank you, dear.” Sanderson said that he is extremely disappointed with the outcome.

“Being a renowned person lends you some assumed credibility… Who wants to challenge a celebrity? It’s no surprise I hesitated,” he said. “It’s challenging. Who desires that someone who learns lines, how to portray another’s role, and is credible and believable, wins awards? Who desires to travel that route?” he queried.

Paltrow made headlines with humorous remarks during the highly publicized trial.
