On November 2, 1990, Butch Patrick was accused of assaulting and stealing from a limousine driver in Illinois. Despite pleading not guilty to the charges, he was separately charged again a year later by another passenger from the same car. During the trial, two witnesses from a gasoline station testified against Patrick, claiming that he had kicked and punched the limousine driver and stolen approximately $140. 

Although he was acquitted of the robbery charges, he was convicted of aggravated battery and was sentenced to 100 hours of community service, a $200 fine, and $850 to be paid to the limousine driver as compensation for damages. As part of his sentence, he was also ordered to complete a rehabilitation program recommended by the county’s probation department. (3)
