Ingredients

  • 4 large Portobello mushroom caps
  • 2 tablespoons of Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 4 leaves of Lettuce
  • 4 slices of Tomato
  • 4 slices of Red onion
  • Sugar-free ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or a grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Remove the stems from the portobello mushrooms and brush both sides with olive oil.
  3. Season the mushrooms with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
  4. Grill the mushrooms for 5-7 minutes on each side or until tender and lightly charred.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each mushroom cap to melt.
  6. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom of each mushroom cap to assemble the burgers, followed by a slice of tomato and red onion.
  7. Serve the burgers immediately, with sugar-free ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise on the side.
