Ingredients
- 4 large Portobello mushroom caps
- 2 tablespoons of Olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of Garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 4 leaves of Lettuce
- 4 slices of Tomato
- 4 slices of Red onion
- Sugar-free ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the grill or a grill pan to medium-high heat.
- Remove the stems from the portobello mushrooms and brush both sides with olive oil.
- Season the mushrooms with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Grill the mushrooms for 5-7 minutes on each side or until tender and lightly charred.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each mushroom cap to melt.
- Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom of each mushroom cap to assemble the burgers, followed by a slice of tomato and red onion.
- Serve the burgers immediately, with sugar-free ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise on the side.
