His personal life has hit a sour note, making it look like the marriage was “Radioactive.”
Aja Volkman, the lead singer of the indie rock band “Nico Vega,” has filed for divorce from her husband, Dan Reynolds, the lead singer of the popular band “Imagine Dragons,” officially putting an end to their 10-year marriage.
Volkman filed the divorce on Tuesday in Los Angeles, which comes in the middle of Reynolds’ new relationship with Minka Kelly and after the estranged couple announced their separation last year.
The now-former couple tied the knot in March 2011 and have four children together; daughter Arrow, twins daughters Gia and Coco, and son Valentine, which they welcomed during the time they reconciled back on January 2019.
Despite their marital issues, the couple remained committed to co-parenting their children, which is something the “Imagine Dragons” lead vocalist mentioned in his statement to Twitter about their separation.
He wrote, “I am saddened to say that after many beautiful years together Aja and I have separated. Being great parents to our children is our number one priority,” adding, “Thank you for always supporting us with love and care for all these years.”
However, two months later, he was seen out on a date with actress Minka, who had also just announced her breakup with actor Trevor Noah around May of the same year. Since then, they have been spotted going on multiple dates and displaying their love for one another.
Reynolds hasn’t made any public remarks on the divorce filing as of the time of this writing. Meanwhile, social media users expressed different opinions about their separation decision on social media. Some of them made fun of it, while others took sides.
Just like this one Twitter user who wrote, “Good for him, he can def do better.” This following user even imposed a question regarding their marriage, saying, “not sure how anyone can stay married to someone capable of making such music.”
What Reynolds’ and Volkman’s personal and professional futures hold is now unknown, but their supporters will definitely keep up with their professions and wish the best for each of them.
