Being a stepparent may be difficult, especially if the prior partner isn’t understanding or supportive. This appears to be the case with Kourtney Kardashian, who recently came under fire from Shanna Moakler, her husband’s ex-wife, Travis Barker.
With that, the conflict between Kourtney and Shanna doesn’t appear to be ending any time soon. Recently, Moakler has criticized Kourtney for the way she has handled being a stepmother to her children with Travis.
The former model has also accused the newlywed wife of Blink 182’s drummer of posting photos more about their kids than her own. The former couple shares two biological children, Landon and Alabama. Travis also keeps in touch with Atiana De La Hoya, Shanna’s first kid from her former marriage to Oscar De La Hoya.
Not only that, but Shanna even described Kourtney and Travis’ relationship as “absolutely disgusting” and finds the whole situation “weird.” But despite the negativity, the “KUWTK” star remains unfazed, according to a statement she released regarding the said criticisms.
On her Instagram story, Kourtney shared a bible verse from Matthew 6:1-18 entitled “Giving to the Needy.” Below it was a cryptic message which seemed to address Moakler’s shade, and it reads, “So much criticism and hate and negativity lately. let’s do better if not for the world, for yourself, for your children, for your friends, and family. I promise the negativity and hate will not make you feel happier.”
“I know the positive far outweighs the negative but it’s still hard not to be aware of it and it feels like every little action is criticized. Imagine the good we could do with that energy.” She concluded her statement by writing, “…thoughts for the day” along with a single red heart emoji.
An insider also told US Weekly that Kourtney believes it is “unfortunate” that Moakler finds it hard to support her love for the children, adding that they are “Travis’ children too, and hers in a way now since she’s their stepmom.”
Moreover, having known Travis and Shanna’s children for a long time, the founder of “Poosh” firmly believes in loving their children just as much as hers. This is because Kourtney and Travis became friends through their kids, and she has always admired Landon, Alabama, and Atiana.
Kourtney’s children, with her ex-husband Scott Disick, Mason, Penelope, and Reign, have likewise become good friends with Barker’s kids too. The insider further stated that Kourtney isn’t paying attention to any negative vibes coming her way, especially regarding what’s best for the kids, and only has the greatest intentions for them.
