The possibility of another exciting entry into the beloved franchise excites fans who anxiously anticipate further information.

The popular TV drama series “Yellowstone,” which follows the life of the Dutton family on their expansive ranch in the wilds of Montana, has captivated audiences. The sitcom, which stars Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, and Wes Bentley, has been top-rated and has already produced two well-received spin-offs.

In one of these spin-offs, “1883,” Sam Elliott, a renowned actor, plays a significant part. Although the plot of the short-lived series appeared to be over, Elliott recently raised the potential of yet another exhilarating spin-off.

By tackling family values, human nature, politics, power conflicts, and romance, “Yellowstone” has held audiences’ attention since its release in 2018. The main character is John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner, who comes from a long line of ranchers and passionately defends his family and their property. The Duttons struggle to maintain their way of life in the face of several obstacles, including confrontations with Native American tribes, land developers, and their own inner demons.

The show’s creators have already created two well-received prequel spin-offs, “1883” and “1923,” both of which had illustrious ensemble casts because of how widely famous it is. Fans are excited about the forthcoming spin-off programs “6666” and “1883: The Bass Reeves Story.”

The renowned actor Elliott, who plays the lead role in “1883,” recently spoke with Variety about his experience filming the hugely successful prequel series. “1883,” a prequel to the events of the original episode, follows the actor’s character, Shea Brennan, a Civil War soldier turned cowboy leading the Duttons from Texas to Montana.

Elliott may be accustomed to Brennan’s rugged appearance, but the intricacy of his emotions allowed the actor to explore uncharted territory for the genre. The actor appreciated the part and acknowledged that saying goodbye to the character and the show was difficult.

In the interview, he proposed the idea of a prequel continuation, suggesting unanswered questions from “1883” could be explored, saying, “Let’s do a prequel of this. Where was LaMonica? Where were those two guys? Pick it up after the war, when they were Pinkertons. There’s plenty of stuff to do.”

Even if there are no current official intentions to return to Shea Brennan and the “Yellowstone” universe, the notion is still an alluring one. According to circulated speculations, the forthcoming fifth season of the flagship series may be its last.

However, conflicting reports have emerged. At the premiere of “Yellowstone” season five, actor Cole Hauser disclosed to PEOPLE Magazine that the show would continue beyond season five. Meanwhile, Taylor Sheridan, one of the show’s co-creators, was not there because of work on the sixth season.

On the other hand, rumors claim that the development of the program has been hampered by Kevin Costner’s obligations to both “Yellowstone” and a forthcoming Western movie dubbed “Horizon.” As per sources, Sheridan has become frustrated with Costner’s schedule issues and is allegedly considering expanding the franchise with Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey as the lead.

When questioned about the future of Yellowstone, a Paramount rep said there was nothing new to share. They stressed Costner’s vital commitment to the program and hoped that it would last for a “long time to come.”
