McCarthy and three other state representatives condemned Biden’s steadfast position on his disastrous withdrawal.
In his address on Tuesday, Biden declared that the war has come to an end after two decades, stirring differing reactions across the country. “My fellow Americans, the war in Afghanistan is now over,” he said with pride.
The speech also includes the President being firm about his belief on the withdrawal – it was the right decision. According to him, every war is bound to casualties, seemingly disregarding the lives that were lost.

“The bottom line is, there is no evacuation from the end of a war that you could run without the kinds of complexities, challenges, and threats we face,” Biden explained, which earned condemnation from some of the state representatives, including the House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
“I believe there should be accountability for what I see is probably the biggest failure in the American government on a military stage in my lifetime,” McCarthy said.
Additionally, Biden’s disastrous decision triggered criticism from other lawmakers, including Daniel Crenshaw, Michael Waltz, and Mike Gallagher.
Crenshaw demands simple “common sense” about the situation. “Accountability of what’s there, accountability of who’s there, and then a plan for how we’re going get them out,” he pointed out.

Similarly, Waltz stressed the importance of the Biden administration fulfilling their duties and taking responsibility for their actions. “People are dying, and you all need to do your jobs for accountability,” told Waltz.
He also reminded: “We do not let terrorists dictate the time, place, and the method in which we get our people out.”

Representative Gallagher, on the other hand, urges Congress to introduce legislation to free Americans who were left in Afghanistan and to assure that the United States is “not paying ransom to terrorists.”

The @SecBlinken’s report telling us the withdrawal from Afghanistan is successful is not just false & lie but also shows us his disrespect to Americans in understanding what’s going on! @RepDanCrenshaw is one of the republican congressmen that I have a due respect for!
