Charli Burnett is an American reality television personality, model, social media star, and actress known for “The Yellow Question” and “Vanderpump Rules.” She’s also known as the 2017 Miss South Bay USA and for being a Miss California USA finalist.

Charli Burnett's Net Worth

As of August 2022, Charli Burnett’s net worth is $500,000. Her career as a reality TV star and model is her primary source of income. While starring in the reality series “Vanderpump Rules,” she worked as a waitress for Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd-owned West Hollywood hotspot, Sexy Unique Restaurant (SUR) & Lounge.

Between seasons eight and nine, Burnett appeared in 38 episodes (1) of Vanderpump Rules. After her introduction in season eight, she got a lot of attention for her memorable one-liners and conflicts with original cast members. Charli supposedly earned $15,000 per episode during season eight before taking home $20,000 per episode after becoming a series regular in season nine.

Burnett is on the roster of Los Angeles talent company Bella Agency (2) which handles her acting, modeling, and influencing career. As a successful reality TV star, she has parlayed her reality TV career into career and business opportunities to grow her net worth. Charli is a well-known influencer on Instagram and a famous content creator of funny TikTok videos (3). Bella Agency secured her a spot in a memorable Mailchimp commercial, adding to her impressive net worth. Burnett’s comic Cameo page, where she charges between $30 to $100 per video request, helps to grow her net worth.

On May 5, 2020, Burnett shared a link to her Etsy shop on her Instagram Story. While staying at home during the Covid-19 pandemic, she has been selling Bravo-inspired homemade ashtrays on her online shop, which helped sustain her cost of living and add to her net worth. Each ashtray has a unique design that features iconic moments from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules. The creatively designed ashtrays were a hit among reality show fans that Charli quickly ran out of stocks.

Charli Burnett's Early Life

Charli Burnett is 25 years old. She was born on February 10, 1997. Charli was born in Victorville, San Bernardino County, California, United States of America, raised by her mother, Veronica Pawlow, and her father, whose name she has not disclosed. The family later moved to Barstow, California, where her parents decided to raise her. She is of Spanish descent.

Burnett came from a big Hispanic family. Her grandfather Rodriguez migrated to the USA (4) when he was still a child. Grandpa Enrique “Mr. Rod” Rodriguez was a hardworking, self-made man who worked full time in the town’s railroad services. Rodriguez used his savings to open a pool hall before investing and starting Rodriguez Market, which later became Barstow’s family convenience store.

Raised as a devout Catholic, Charli credits God as her most significant influence in life. She acknowledges her great-grandmother Conception Rodriguez, her grandmother Gloria Rodriguez Pawlow, her mother Veronica, her aunt Gina Poindexter, her sister Alyx, her friend Sally Villafana-Najera, and her godmother Rene Barron as her guides and inspirations. She describes these women as independent, loyal, and brave. Burnett shared that her family taught her to be courageous, bold, humble, focused on her goals, and not care what other people say about her.

Charli’s mother, Veronica, encouraged her and her sister, Alyx, to join beauty pageants. Veronica confessed that she’s proud that her daughters are good-looking enough to compete. She also shared that she pushed them to join beauty pageants to help build their characters. Burnett started competing at the age of eleven. In 2009, the town crowned her court princess of Teen Miss Barstow Shelby Hawes before being crowned Miss Teen Barstow in 2010 and Miss Barstow in 2013. Charli continued competing until she won Miss South Bay USA in 2017 and became a finalist for Miss California USA the following year.

Burnett struggled with food throughout her life. During a confessional video on Vanderpump Rules, she implied that she got physically punished as a child (5) for not eating well. Charli’s eating disorder continued until adulthood; admitting to being a picky eater and would barely try out food beyond her comfort zone. For seventeen years, she only ate peanut butter & jelly, quesadillas, and pizza.

Charli Burnett's Education

Charli Burnett attended Crestline Elementary School in Barstow, California. Since the Burnett, Pawlow, and Rodriguez branches of her family all live in Barstow, she went to school with many of her cousins and extended families. After elementary school, Charli continued her education at Barstow Intermediate School and Barstow Jr. High before graduating from Barstow High School.

Burnett participated in various school activities and organizations, having played catcher for Barstow Park and Rec softball team. She has played percussion instruments since fourth grade, joining the Aztec Marching Band to play bells and snare drum for Barstow Jr. High Marching Band. Charli’s other extracurricular activities involved dancing jazz, tap, and ballet, and she was a soloist at Kim Harris Dance Studio.

In 2017, Charli Burnett graduated from Barstow Community College (7). She did not disclose the course she was studying while attending the school. During the airing of Vanderpump Rules’ season nine, Charli revealed that she recently graduated and is now a licensed aesthetician (8). She juggled her studies while working as a waitress at SUR. Burnett reasoned that she decided to be an aesthetician because of her interest in beauty and wellness and having a backup career should her entertainment career come to a standstill.

Charli Burnett's Boyfriend and Family Life

Charli Burnett has been in a relationship with boyfriend Corey Loftus (9) since 2017. It is unclear how they met, but the couple currently lives together in Corey’s apartment in West Hollywood. Burnett credits eCommerce and digital strategist Loftus as her “rock,” who has helped her through her eating disorder by encouraging her to try other food, eat healthier, and get into fitness and bodybuilding.

Fans often commented that Corey looks like American rapper Macklemore (10). Charli did not see it at first, but in an Instagram post on October 27, 2021, she candidly joked that Macklemore came to visit SUR. Burnett noted that Loftus is a staple in her circle of friends and hangs out with her SUR and Tom Tom Restaurant & Bar colleagues. In a conversation with cast member Ariana Madix during a season nine episode, Charli mentioned her plan to move in with Corey to a new house that doesn’t have any traces and history of Loftus’ past relationships.

Burnett’s season eight story arc on Vanderpump Rules involved her fling with co-star Brett Caprioni. She wasn’t thrilled when Caprioni asked her out because he was nothing like the men she had dated before, but she decided to give him a chance. Charli noted that she’s partial toward masculine men, has tattoos, and has a rough sex appeal. She joked that Brett has “soft boy hands,” which tells her he doesn’t have enough manual labor experience. The ill-fated date involved gain bowls and smoothies, which Burnett is not a fan of, noting that as a Spanish girl from Barstow, Caprioni’s food choices do not impress her at all. Brett sealed the fate of any relationship after he spent hours talking about his ex-girlfriend, Carli Bybel. She remarked that he bore her to tears because she wouldn’t even sit through a podcast for that long.

Charli confessed that she is aware that people misunderstand her personality (11) because they have a negative image of her. She believes that if people go out of their way to get to know her, they will not judge her based on what they see on television and instead appreciate her unique sense of humor and simplicity. Burnett shared that she wishes for equality and for humankind to be free of racial discrimination.

Despite her complicated relationship with food, Charli admitted that sweet desserts like Oreo cheesecake, red velvet cupcakes, and chocolate chip cookies as her ultimate guilty pleasure. In an Instagram post on October 19, 2021, Charli came clean about her battle with weight and depression. To illustrate her caption, she accompanied the post with before and after unedited bikini photos of herself. Burnett shared that she was hesitant to post about her fitness journey out of fear of being judged and bullied. Her loving friends convinced her to make an effort and show her vulnerability to encourage people in the same situation to be strong and motivate them to fight through their struggles.

Burnett opened her post by confessing that because of the Covid-19 pandemic, she lost her career, job, and independence. Her mental and physical misery was exacerbated after going through foot surgery, which led her to fall into a deep cycle of depression and binge eating and drinking. She gained 45-plus pounds and was unsure if she would be herself again, but her boyfriend, Corey Loftus, encouraged her to get better (12) and be more physically active. Charli acknowledged Corey’s significant part in her recovery and body transformation. She noted that because of his support, she has a better relationship with food, feels more confident about herself, and is mentally and physically strong.

Charli Burnett currently competes in bodybuilding tournaments (13) outside her entertainment and modeling career. She won three medals at the 2021 MuscleContest International competition and plans to continue her bodybuilding career and join more contests in the future.

Charli Burnett's Career

After graduating from Barstow Community College in 2017, Charli Burnett left Barstow, California, to pursue a career in modeling and entertainment. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, California, she quickly went about auditioning for roles. To help support herself while securing small modeling jobs and acting auditions, Charli got a job as a waitress in West Hollywood hotspot Sexy Unique Restaurant (SUR) & Lounge. Working in SUR meant she would be a background character in Vanderpump Rules, but Charli did not appear on the show until the eighth season when she got introduced as a recurring supporting cast member. Memorable one-liners and controversial confessions endeared her to Pump Rules’ audience, and by the show’s season nine premiere, she was promoted as a series regular.

Before landing her Vanderpump Rules gig, Burnett signed with the Los Angeles model and talent company Bella Agency. Her agents secured her commercial jobs where she played minor roles appearing in thirty to forty-five-second commercials. In August 2019, Charli appeared in a high-profile Mailchimp commercial advertisement. Her appearance in the ad paved the way for more print and advertisement jobs which caught the attention of the producers at the Bravo network that produces Vanderpump Rules. In 2020, Charli’s agents secured her the role of Helen in the Mal and Malek Haneen-directed short film “The Yellow Question.” (14)

Burnett is considered a beauty pageant veteran like her Vanderpump Rules co-star Raquel Leviss, having started competing at eleven, winning the court princess title during the 2009 Teen Miss Barstow competition. Charli was crowned Miss Teen Barstow the following year before winning the coveted Miss Barstow title in 2013. With her good looks and experience, she continued participating in the beauty pageant circuit. Burnett won Miss South Bay USA in 2017, which led her to qualify and compete in the Miss California competition in 2018.

As a kid, Charli Burnett dreamed of being a weather broadcaster. She reasoned that she always wanted to be famous and entertain people. Burnett’s hope for recognition led her to participate in beauty pageants and extracurricular school activities. She honed her talent in percussion instruments like bells and snare drums through school marching bands. Charli’s parents understood her potential and sent her to study dance at the Kim Harris Studio. Under Kim Harris, she extensively studied and practiced tap dancing, jazz, and ballet.

Serving at SUR is not Burnett’s first foray into the hospitality industry. As a teenager, she worked in a hometown restaurant named Los Domingo’s. Charli served as the establishment’s hostess, which became convenient for her to meet locals after being crowned Miss Barstow. She credits her experience at Los Domingo’s as a springboard to her future career in entertainment and hospitality.

Burnett’s appeal is undeniable, which helps her a lot in her influencer work. She is famous for her hilarious TikTok and Cameo pages (15), where she posts skits and provides greetings and advice to her followers. During season nine of Vanderpump Rules, she used her modeling skills to help cast member Raquel Leviss raise money to correct her botched nose job. The pair and co-star Katie Maloney sold photos of their feet at FeetFinder.com and raised enough funds to help Raquel in her medical emergency.

While riding through the Covid-19 pandemic, Charli opened an Etsy shop to aid her boredom and exercise her creativity. She sold Bravo-inspired homemade ashtrays (16) that featured iconic moments from Vanderpump Rules and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Burnett admitted to suffering from depression brought on by the pandemic lockdown. The Barstow native confessed that she spiraled into binge eating and drinking after foot surgery, which led her to gain more than forty-five pounds. Charli admitted that she felt horrible about letting go of herself. With the encouragement of her boyfriend, Corey Loftus, she pushed herself to reestablish her relationship with food and be physically active again.

Charli Burnett currently busies herself with starring in Vanderpump Rules. While filming seasons eight and nine of the Bravo reality show, she studied to become an aesthetician. Burnett confessed that she sought to continue her education for a future fallback career. Burnett has committed herself to work through body positivity by participating in bodybuilding competitions. She hopes that sharing her journey can encourage others to be more assertive in dealing with their psychological and physical demons.

Vanderpump Rules Storyline for Charli Burnett

During its season eight premiere, Charli Burnett got introduced as one of the newest cast additions of Vanderpump Rules. The hit Bravo Network-produced series followed the lives of Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR and Tom Tom Restaurant & Bar staff as they navigated their relationships and aspiring showbiz careers. Other cast members that the show added to its roster are Dayna Kathan, Danica Dow, Max Boyens, Raquel Leviss, Beau Clark, Brock Davies, and Brett Caprioni.

Charli began as a recurring cast member in season eight. Being Latina, she was labeled a Scheana Shay doppelganger. However, Burnett quickly established herself with her witty humor and bravery against the show’s resident bullies. She didn’t have a complex story arc during her first season, but her random comments on the actions of the prominent cast members provided a much-needed laugh and swiftly made her a fan favorite among viewers.

The reality show’s audience did not get many ideas about Charli’s personality beyond her witty remarks in season eight. During the third episode, co-star Dayna Kathan asked Burnett about her favorite items on SUR’s menu. She confessed that she had fun eating pasta for three straight nights and claimed that she had never eaten pasta (17) in her whole life until three nights ago. Charli shared that she always held on to the theory that pasta is why people gain weight. This confession shocked Kathan and the rest of the cast, leading to Charli being the butt of food jokes.

Primary cast member Scheana Shay befriended Burnett and made sure to stand by her every time the rest of the cast made fun of her. Shay was doing it because she experienced the same level of bullying from OG co-stars Kristen Doute, Katie Maloney, and Stassi Schroeder. Scheana and Charli’s dynamic quickly went south in season nine after Scheana claimed that Charli was being unfair in accusing her of abandoning their friendship. Shay maintained that the SUR waitress does not understand (18) the series of struggles she went through, including her miscarriage and near-death experience during childbirth of her daughter, Summer Moon Honey Davies, to accuse her of such a thing. The pair later made up, with Scheana apologizing to Charli for being a “bad friend.”

Burnett admits that the reality show has a toxic (19) environment. She called out cast member Jax Taylor for intensely bullying her. The SUR waitress confirmed that Lala Kent and the Witches of WeHo are all mean girls, calling her names and treating her like trash. Charli shared that she had to go to therapy to deal with the viciousness from her co-stars and judgmental comments from fans of the show.

Despite her negative experience with her co-stars, Burnett remained a team player. When Danica Dow and Scheana made fun of Dayna for not wearing a bra at work, she explained to her co-workers that undergarment use translates to workplace success. Burnett grabbed her breasts and professed, “The higher to heaven, the better the tips.” When co-star Ariana Madix commented on how impressed she was with Charli’s sense of style, the Barstow native jokingly replied that it is because she got her boobs enhanced and named them Tia and Tamera.

Vanderpump Rules fans religiously followed Charli’s trainwreck date saga with co-star Brett Caprioni, where the SUR bartender spent most of his time talking about his ex, Carli Bybel. Burnett expressed that she wasn’t impressed with Caprioni’s dating skills and food choice and was bored to tears listening to Brett talk about his ex-girlfriend. Another notable Charli moment happened during an episode covering Ariana Madix’s birthday party. Cast member Danica Dow saw that Charli’s dress still had its tag. Burnett admitted that she kept the label on the dress because she planned to return it.

As a former beauty pageant queen, Burnett quickly bonded with co-star Raquel Leviss. To help Raquel raise funds to fix her botched nose job (20), Charli rallied Leviss and cast member Katie Maloney to start selling photos of their feet. The trio sold sexy pictures of their feet at FeetFinder, which raised $600. Leviss had doubts about their side hustle, fearing that future employers might take issue with their fundraising strategy. Surprisingly, SUR boss Lisa Vanderpump secretly helped them by buying the photos under a fake alias.

In a season nine episode on November 9, 2021, Burnett opened up about overcoming her issues with food. Her success came after hitting rock bottom and gaining more than forty-five pounds during the first year of the pandemic. Charli worked through her struggle and got back in shape. She shared that she’s excited about this new chapter in her life with her healthy relationships with food and people close to her. Charli Burnett is confirmed to appear in the upcoming season ten of the hit reality show.
