Dayna Kathan's Net Worth

As of August 2022, Dayna Kathan’s net worth is $500,000. Her career as a reality TV personality and stand-up comedian is her primary source of income. While starring in the reality show, she worked as a hostess for Tom Tom Restaurant & Bar before moving on to work as a waitress for Sexy Unique Restaurant (SUR) & Lounge. Famous restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd, own both West Hollywood joints.

Kathan appeared in 25 episodes (1) in the eighth season of Vanderpump Rules. She got a lot of attention after her introduction as one of the new exciting cast members. Dayna showed up as a guest star in the previous season before becoming a permanent co-star on the show. She supposedly earned $25,000 per episode before she decided to leave the hit series.

Before her start on television, Dayna is already a famous comedian on the Los Angeles comedy circuit. Her stints in famous Hollywood comedy clubs, The Comedy Store, Westside Comedy Theater, and Rebels of Comedy (2) meant she was taking home huge paychecks, which helped increase her net worth. Kathan’s hilarious Cameo page (3), where she charges between $30 to $100 per video request, helps to grow her net worth.

After leaving Vanderpump Rules, Dayna Kathan added to her net worth by starting a podcast, Unf*ckwithable. The podcast, which has 15 recorded episodes, have Dayna interviewing guests from all walks of life, sharing their difficulties, growth, achievements, and triumphs. Moving on from the entertainment world, Kathan assumed an executive role with medical care company Medication Review, Inc. The company appointed her as their national sales manager, which means Dayna is taking home a considerable salary that helps her already impressive net worth.

Dayna Kathan's Early Life

Dayna Kathan is 32 years old. She was born on July 25, 1990. Dayna was born in Federal Way, King County, Washington, United States of America (4), raised by her mother, Julia Kathan, and her father, whose name she has not disclosed.

Dayna confessed that she had a difficult childhood and challenging adolescence, which led her to be self-reliant and innovative. She was a natural-born salesperson, selling lemonade and cookies in front of her house during the summer so she could save money for the upcoming school year. Kathan also offered to do odd jobs around her neighborhood from eleven, so she did not have to ask her parents for allowance money.

Dayna credits her mother, Julia, as her inspiration and biggest supporter. She shared that her mother encouraged her to be active and pursue her childhood dream of having an entertainment career. Julia motivated her daughter to take singing, dancing, and acting lessons. Kathan confessed that her mother was the first person who saw her potential in comedy and that Julia would often describe her as the next Jenny McCarthy to anyone who would listen.

When Dayna was twenty-two years old, Julia Kathan passed away on December 16, 2012. Her mother’s death led Kathan to fall out with her father (5) and move to Los Angeles, California. Following Julia’s passing, Dayna lost her long-time job, experienced several painful romantic relationship breakups, and struggled with mental illness and suicidal thoughts.

Dayna Kathan's Education

Dayna Kathan attended her local high school in Federal Way, Washington. She was involved in performance activities at school, singing, dancing, and doing short stand-up comedy routines in front of the student body. Dayna was considered to be one of the funniest students in her batch.

After graduating from high school in 2009, Kathan studied at Washington State University. She finished college in 2012 and earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies (7). During her graduation ceremony, Dayna wrote “I love you, Mom” at the top of her graduation cap (8). She confessed that she dedicated her achievement to her mother, Julia Kathan, who passed away before she could finish university studies.

Dayna admitted that she chose to study communication and media studies because she was determined to have a career in the entertainment industry. She acknowledged that her strength in connecting with other people played a big part when it came to deciding which course to take in college.

Dayna Kathan was a natural leader and business-minded woman. She used her skills in communication and incorporated them with her knowledge in entrepreneurship, which paid off in all her professional endeavors. She was determined to maximize the privilege of having a college degree because she was the first member of her family who was able to finish university.

Dayna Kathan's Boyfriend and Family Life

Dayna Kathan is currently single. While appearing on Vanderpump Rules, she was in a short-lived relationship with co-star and Tom Tom Restaurant & Bar general manager Max Boyens (9). The pair dated after meeting in season seven when Kathan accompanied the show’s female cast members on a wine trip in Solvang, California. After their first encounter, Dayna got hired as a hostess at Tom Tom, where she was a direct subordinate to Max.

Boyens and Kathan had a complicated relationship before getting together because Max had a personal rule of not dating an employee who works underneath him. Despite his inhibitions, Boyens fell for Kathan, who he dated for much of the reality show’s eighth season. The couple broke up after Dayna discovered that Max cheated on her with a SUR waitress during her birthday.

After their breakup, Kathan had a hard time being around Boyens. She asked Pump Rules boss, Lisa Vanderpump, if she could be transferred to Lisa’s other watering hole, Sexy Unique Restaurant (SUR) & Lounge. Vanderpump granted her request and gave her a waitressing job at SUR. Dayna and Max continued to be civil but refused to address each other even as “friends.”

Kathan’s relationship with Boyens and her time on the reality series became more challenging after primary cast member Scheana Shay created a hostile environment within TomTom which gave her a tough time. Scheana was not a fan of Dayna’s big personality and budding relationship with Max and made sure that Dayna was aware of her disdain. During one of the early episodes of season eight, Shay told Kathan of her past fling with Boyens. The revelation started a back and forth contemptuous relationship between the pair. It eventually fizzled out after Scheana revealed that her fling with Max was brief and that it ended because he ghosted her. The duo realized that they got off on the wrong foot and had many things in common. Dayna and Scheana decided to be friends (10) and promised each other that they would never let a man get in between their friendship again.

After Boyens and Kathan split up, co-star Brett Caprioni showed interest in Dayna. Caprioni and Kathan got along well and were developing a mutual understanding between them when things became more complicated within their circle. Max expressed his disappointment and disapproval of his friend’s intentions to woo his ex-girlfriend. Brett stopped pursuing Dayna out of respect for his friend because both men had just started mending their relationship after a problematic situation over their separate past relationships with Scheana Shay.

Kathan came out as bisexual during a legendary episode of Vanderpump Rules. She revealed her sexuality during SUR’s participation in West Hollywood’s Pride Party in 2019. After co-star Jax Taylor bullied cast member Ariana Madix over her sexuality, Dayna defended her and called her her “bi sister.” (11) She is proudly bisexual and often makes posts encouraging her followers to be comfortable with who they are.

In April 2021, Dayna announced that she was leaving Vanderpump Rules. Following her departure from the show, she admitted that she became suicidal (12) in 2020. Kathan did not reveal the cause of her suicidal thoughts but admitted to feeling overwhelmed and anxious despite the happy and glamorous façade she was trying to cultivate on her social media accounts. She shared photos of herself from the previous year, illustrating how unreliable image perception can be. Kathan closed her post by telling her followers to seek help whenever they need it and to comfort them that they are not alone in their struggles.

Dayna Kathan lives with her black cat Leo (13) in her West Hollywood apartment. She describes her furry companion as the only man she trusts because he has been on her side through all her life and relationship troubles. Leo is famous for appearing on Vanderpump Rules after Dayna notoriously ran Max’s necklace through Leo’s litter box before giving it back to Max Boyens. Dayna prominently features Leo in all her social media posts.

Dayna Kathan's Career

Dayna Kathan currently works as the national sales manager of Medication Review, Inc. (14) The medical care company announced Dayna’s hiring on January 26, 2021. Company CEO Scott Wetzel describes Dayna as having a contagious energy and enthusiasm in bringing her extensive expertise to the medication and telehealth industry. Her role was to partner with businesses to create forward-looking plans for their clinics and pharmacies’ telehealth services.

Before joining Vanderpump Rules, Dayna already worked in healthcare sales and the medical device industry. After graduating from Washington State University in 2012, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies, Kathan immediately worked as an account executive for QVD Aquaculture Graphic. After a year and four months with the company, she transferred to work for NuVasive as a spine associate before being promoted to a spine specialist. Dayna worked for the company for three years and eleven months before moving to San Diego, California, to work for BD Graphic as an account executive for two years and one month.

Kathan simultaneously worked as a stand-up comedian along with her office jobs. Living in San Diego, she drove to Los Angeles to fulfill her stand-up comedy commitments. Dayna made appearances in famous Hollywood comedy clubs, The Comedy Store, Rebels of Comedy, and Westside Comedy Theater (15). Little is known about her comedy routine, but Vanderpump Rules co-star Stassi Schroeder describes her as having a dark sense of humor and an amusing way of looking into different things and situations.

Dayna relocated to Los Angeles in the summer of 2018 after she decided to commit to a career in entertainment. She left her job at BD Graphic and became a full-time comedian and aspiring actress. After doing a comedy routine, she was introduced to one of Vanderpump Rules’ producers by the cast members. The producer asked if she would like to appear as a supporting character in the hit reality show. Dayna saw the casting as her break and agreed to do a brief appearance in the show’s seventh season as one of the friends of the female cast members.

Before the start of season eight, the Bravo network announced Kathan as one of the new primary cast members of the reality series. Dayna secured a hostess job at Tom Tom to help support herself. She proved to be a great addition to the show as fans latched on to her firm, no holds barred attitude. In April 2021, Kathan announced that she would not return for Vanderpump Rules’ ninth season. She admitted that it was a tough decision but maintained that it was the right one for her and her future. Dayna said she was grateful for the opportunity to work on the series and wished everyone the best.

After leaving Vanderpump Rules, Dayna Kathan started her podcast Unf*ckwithable (16), which features her interviewing people from different walks of life and sharing stories about their various struggles, achievements, hopes, and dreams. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Dayna started her TikTok page, where she posts comedy skits and commentaries. She also became famous for her Instagram “fauxtorials,” where she posts funny videos of herself applying make-up. Kathan and Vanderpump Rules co-star Katie Maloney host online events called “Wine to Me,” (17) where the pair drink wine while chatting about various topics.

Vanderpump Rules Storyline for Dayna Kathan

During its season eight premiere, Dayna Kathan was introduced as one of the newest additions (18) to the impressive and diverse cast of Vanderpump Rules. The smash hit Bravo Network show followed the personal lives of Lisa Vanderpump’s employees as they navigated through their relationships and aspiring Hollywood careers. Other cast members that the network added are Max Boyens, Brett Caprioni, Danica Dow, Beau Clark, Charli Burnett, Brock Davies, and Raquel Leviss to its main cast.

Kathan made a brief appearance in season seven as a guest star, where she was featured as one of the party guests in a scene filmed in the Mondrian Hotel. In a later episode, Dayna played one of the friends of the female cast members during a wine weekend trip to Solvang, California. SUR manager Peter Madrigal claimed that he and Kathan kissed inside a bathroom during the Solvang trip. Dayna denied (19) it happened and explained that when Peter tried to kiss her, she turned away and left the bathroom. Kathan clapped back on Madrigal’s claim by pointing out that if they did kiss, she would remember it because it would have been the first time she kissed a pirate.

Before season eight, Dayna was promoted to a series regular after Lisa Vanderpump hired her as Tom Tom Restaurant & Bar’s hostess. She secured the gig after one of the show’s producers attended one of her stand-up comedy gigs and approached her to offer to be a part of the show. Kathan has been a long-time fan of the reality series and has been good friends with the cast that she immediately agreed to do the series.

As soon as she started her job at Tom Tom Restaurant & Bar, Dayna was met with hostility from lead cast member Scheana Shay after the latter found out that she was dating her boss, Max Boyens. During her short-lived one-season run on Pump Rules, much of Dayna’s storyline focused on her relationships with Shay, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni. Scheana did not like her personality and gave Dayna a hard time over her relationship with Max. Kathan was made aware of Boyens and Shay’s past brief relationship, which involved Max ghosting Scheana. Dayna thought Scheana was creating a hostile environment because she was not yet over Max. The animosity between the pair stopped after Kathan caught Boyens cheating on her with another server. Scheana and Dayna discovered that they had a lot of things in common and decided to be friends.

After her breakup with Max Boyens, Kathan had difficulty being around him. She asked Tom Tom boss, Lisa Vanderpump if she could be transferred to the neighboring bar, SUR. Vanderpump accommodated her request, and she was made a waitress at SUR. After her move, SURver Brett Caprioni, a close friend of Boyens, showed interest in Dayna. The pair developed a mutual understanding and was close to dating until Max informed Brett of his dismay over his friend’s decision to pursue his ex-girlfriend. Brett apologized and postponed his plans to date Dayna.

During an episode featuring SUR’s participation in the annual West Hollywood Pride Parade party, Kathan came out as bisexual. She revealed her sexuality to express her solidarity with co-star Ariana Madix, who earlier came out as bisexual. Dayna witnessed cast member Jax Taylor bullying Madix over her sexual orientation and decided to stand up for her “bi sister.” Lisa Vanderpump was impressed by Kathan’s honesty and bravery and ensured Taylor would be punished for his appalling behavior.

In April 2021, Dayna Kathan shocked fans of the show after announcing that she decided not to return for the show’s upcoming ninth season. She sparked exit rumors after replying to a fan on an Instagram post (20) that she’s not returning next season. Kathan highlighted that she felt confident that it was the right decision for her, even if it was tough to make the decision. She maintained that she was grateful for her experience on the show and wished everyone the best.
