Lala Kent is an American reality television personality, actress, singer, writer, influencer, and businesswoman known for “Vanderpump Rules,” “Dudes & Dragons,” “The Row,” “Vault,” “Hard Kill,” and “American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally.” She is also known for hosting the podcast “Give Them Lala.”

Lala Kent's Net Worth

As of July 2022, Lala Kent’s net worth is $2 million. Her career as a reality TV star and actress is her primary source of income. As a late addition to Vanderpump Rules, her salary started in the $10,000 to $15,000 range. Her salary (1) was upgraded to $25,000 per episode by the show’s sixth season when she got promoted to a regular cast member. She appeared in a total of 128 episodes.

Kent’s wealth is also increasing from sponsorships, and streaming profit from her multi-platform podcast Give Them Lala. As of July 6, 2022, the podcast has 111 full episodes featuring famous pop culture guests talking to Lala about various subjects. Accumulated income from club appearances, hosting engagements, and live performances contributed to her impressive net worth. She reportedly charges $15,000 to $25,000 per public appearance, depending on the event and hours required for her service.

Lala’s notable net worth includes earnings from her singing career, which brings in a steady income from music royalties. Her modeling and entrepreneurial endeavor with her Give Them Lala empire have significantly added to her net worth. In 2017, Kent launched her makeup line, Give Them Lala Beauty (2), which sells mid-range cruelty-free makeup products. She followed the beauty line with her skincare line, Give Them Lala Skin. Her latest business venture, Give Them Lala Baby, which she launched after giving birth to her daughter, is proving to be a potential player in her growing net worth.

Lala Kent’s net worth continues to be remarkable through her knack for parlaying her influencer status. In May 2021, Kent released her semi-autobiographical book (3) Give Them Lala. The book contains personal essays about her life, career, and experiences. She expects to release a follow-up effort focusing on motherhood and entrepreneurship.

Lala Kent's Early Life

Lauren Elyse Burningham, famously known as Lala Kent, is 31. She was born on September 2, 1990. Lala was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States of America, raised by her parents, businessman Kent Burningham and Lisa Burningham, an animal sanctuary worker.

Kent is very proud of her family. She describes them as being extremely close (4) and traditional. Her childhood is full of memories of family vacations, hometown parades, and family get-togethers. Lala claims that her parents were always supportive of her and her dreams.

Tragedy struck on April 23, 2018, when Kent Burningham passed away (5) from a major stroke following a car crash. Lala shared that her then-fiancé Randall Emmett informed her about the accident. Kent Burningham spent a month in the hospital before succumbing to a stroke. Kent and Lisa Burningham had been married for 31 years when he passed away.

Lala Kent has one younger brother named Easton Burningham. He’s an aspiring actor working as a SURver in Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR Restaurant & Lounge. When not serving drinks and food at SUR (6) , Easton helps run Lala’s Give Them Lala businesses.

Lala Kent's Education

Lala Kent has not disclosed which local high school or college she attended. She admitted that she had it very tough in high school and was considered a nerd by the popular kids’ group. Lala confessed that she felt more comfortable hanging out with the outcasts of her school crowd. Kent also added that as a lone wolf, she had no friends and would often go home to eat lunch (7) with her mother instead of sitting alone in the school’s cafeteria.

Lala Kent's Boyfriend and Family Life

Lala Kent is currently single. She was engaged to television and film producer Randall Emmett with whom she shares a daughter. The former couple welcomed their daughter, Ocean Kent Emmett (8), on March 15, 2021.

Aside from being a fan favorite on Vanderpump Rules, Kent is famous for her tumultuous relationship with her ex-fiancé. The pair met after Randall’s assistant approached Lala while working as a hostess at SUR and asked if she already had a manager. She directed him to her agent’s contact information on her Instagram bio. The following day, Kent’s agent informed her that famous Hollywood producer Emmett wanted her to audition for the upcoming film that he was producing.

After meeting and giving Lala the role of Riley Cole in “The Row,” the pair engaged in a whirlwind romance. Randall showered Lala with expensive gifts, including a pair of Christian Louboutin boots and an army-green Chanel bag. Kent admitted that she slept with the movie producer after their first date in New York City. Emmett, in return, gifted Lala a brand new Range Rover SUV.

Lala Kent had to keep her relationship with Randall Emmett a secret. At the time of their meeting and affair, Randall was still married but separated from his actress wife, Ambyr Childers, with whom he shares daughters, London and Rylee Emmett. In 2018, the former couple took their romance public after Emmett’s divorce from Childers was finalized.

On September 2, 2018, Randall and Lala announced their engagement after two years of dating. Randall popped the question during a romantic trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where they celebrated Lala’s 28th birthday at the swanky Esperanza An Auberge Resort (9). Emmett proposed with a six-carat diamond engagement ring. The sparkler, designed by Richie Rich of Leon Diamond New York, features a center stone surrounded by smaller diamond stones on top of an 18k white gold band. While they were together, the couple lived in a mansion a quarter-mile from Mulholland Drive and the 405 Freeway.

Lala Kent and Randall Emmett broke up in October 2021, three years after getting engaged. The split resulted from Emmett getting caught cheating with two women at a Nashville hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. In an episode of her Give Them Lala podcast, Kent revealed that she felt disposable (10) after the split. She disclosed that she found out that Randall had multiple affairs with other women while they were together.

After their controversial split, Lala discovered that her engagement ring’s diamond stone was a fake. Emmett previously boasted that the sparkler is worth $150,000. Kent explained that she had the ring appraised and later confronted jeweler Richie Rich who admitted that Randall knew about the ring’s value. Lala disclosed that on October 20, 2021, she changed her “Rand” tattoo to “bRand new” (11) to celebrate her newfound freedom. The reality star got her Rand tattoo on her arm in honor of her ex-fiancé in July 2020. Kent disclosed that she and Emmett are practicing parallel parenting because she chose to avoid communicating with him.

During a guesting in Harry Jowsey’s “Tap In” podcast, Lala revealed that intercourse with Randall was awful and unsatisfying. She also disclosed that Emmett tackled her to the ground when she confronted him about his Nashville cheating photos. Five of Lala’s friends attested to the alleged altercation, confirming that Lala told them about the incident after it happened. Kent further stated in a Heather McDonald interview that Randall is a master manipulator and that he repeatedly lied to her during their five-year relationship. Fans started to call out Lala as a pathological liar (12) for rewriting history after they pointed out that she only had glowing things to say about Emmett when they were still on good terms.

Before dating Randall Emmett, Kent was in a one-year relationship with her Vanderpump Rules co-star, James Kennedy. The pair met while working on the show and described their time together as casual. They did musical collaborations and were considered Pump Rules’ dynamic duo. After parting ways, the twosome became best friends.

Although Lala was a loner during high school, she had a boyfriend named Johnny, with whom she lost her virginity. She also confessed in her semi-autobiographical book, Give Them Lala, that she had an abortion (13) when she was 22. Kent noted that the fetus’s father was her former boyfriend, Carter. She also revealed that she decided to undergo the procedure because Carter refused to answer her calls to discuss their situation. Lala recalled that it was tough to get the abortion done even when her mother, Lisa Burningham, accompanied her to the local Planned Parenthood clinic in Utah. They also found out her grandmother passed away after getting her abortion.

Lala is not foreign or opposed to plastic surgery. She admits to having botox and filler injections all over her face. In an Instagram post on June 23, 2022, Lala revealed that she had a second breast augmentation (14) procedure and another one to get her left ear pinned back. Kent stated that she’s willing to go under the knife for cosmetic procedures because it makes her feel good about herself.

On October 23, 2021, Lala Kent celebrated three years of sobriety. She credits her sober coach, sponsor, and late father with guiding her through her journey. Lala confessed that she went on a drinking spiral after her father’s death. Kent acknowledged that she didn’t want the kind of person she was becoming, so she sought help. Currently, Lala Kent maintains that her daughter, Ocean Kent Emmett, is her priority and wants to build a secure and comfortable future for her.

Lala Kent's Career

Lala Kent relocated to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a career in acting. She made her screen debut in Nyk Fry’s “Reflections in the Mud” (2009), followed by bit roles in “The Mentor” (2014) and “One Shot” (2014), and supporting roles in sports rom-com “Pitching Love and Catching Faith” (2015) and “Dudes & Dragons” (2015) opposite 90s heartthrobs James Marsters and Luke Perry.

While pursuing her acting dream, Kent started working in Lisa Vanderpump’s West Hollywood bar Sexy Unique Restaurant (SUR) as a hostess. She got introduced as a recurring cast member in seasons four and five. Her charm and chemistry with James Kennedy led producers to promote her as a series regular by season six.

In 2008, she burst out in the movie scene in Matty Beckerman’s “The Row” (15) opposite action star Randy Couture. Lala followed this role by filming three back to back to back movies opposite Bruce Willis: “Vault” (2019), “10 Minutes Gone” (2019), and “Trauma Center” (2019). Kent then secured a supporting role in the Sundance Film Festival entry “Spree” (2020) opposite Stranger Things actor Joe Keery before reuniting with Bruce Willis in the action-thriller “Hard Kill” (2020). Lala followed up her banner year by appearing in the comedy-thriller “The Estate” opposite Eric Roberts and Heather Matarazzo. She next found herself co-starring with screen legend Al Pacino in the World War II drama “American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally.” Kent wrapped up her 2021 with a supporting role in Bruce Willis’ last movie before his Aphasia diagnosis, “Out of Death.”

In 2016, Lala teamed up with Pump Rules co-star and SUR resident DJ James Kennedy on a series of music collaborations. The former couple released the songs “Feeling You,” “Boy,” and “4U,” with “Boy” reaching the #1 spot on iTunes’ Electronic genre in 2018. The reality TV star is also an animal activist passionate about the appalling treatment of Orca whales in SeaWorld. Kent appeared in a PETA ad campaign (16) with Vanderpump Rules co-stars Ariana Madix and Scheana Shay. The campaign featured the three reality stars posing nude in body paint that mimics the colors of an Orca whale. The trio teamed up with PETA to voice their support for SeaWorld to release their captive Orcas.

Lala Kent released her semi-autobiographical book “Give Them Lala” (17) in May 2021. The best-seller features personal essays written by Kent about her life, career, and experiences. Lala is also a successful businesswoman. She is the founder and owner of the Give Them Lala empire that runs the makeup line Give Them Lala Beauty, skincare line Give Them Lala Skin, and baby apparel line Give Them Lala Baby. Kent assures clients and critics that all her products are reasonably priced and cruelty-free.

Vanderpump Rules Storyline for Lala Kent

Lala Kent appeared in the fourth and fifth seasons of Vanderpump Rules as a recurring cast member when Lisa Vanderpump personally hired her (18) to be SUR Restaurant & Lounge’s new hostess. The reality television show, which debuted in 2013, airs on the Bravo network and features a group of SUR employees navigating their aspiring Hollywood careers and personal relationships.

Kent quickly became a fan favorite for injecting the show with her trademark cool-girl attitude. However, it wasn’t smooth sailing for Lala as she dealt with workplace harassment from SUR mean girls Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, and Katie Maloney. The trio called Kent nasty words and branded her with un-feminist names. She soon found an ally with SUR’s barback, James Kennedy. The pair clicked together right away and soon started dating.

Stassi, Kristen, and Katie’s workplace harassment did not let up by season five. Lala and James found themselves in the crosshairs of cast member fight with the duo getting involved, culminating in a drunken fat shaming argument with bride-to-be Katie Maloney. Kennedy and Kent broke up later in the season but decided to remain friends. Lala stopped showing up to work as she began to secure film work and date a mysterious wealthy Hollywood producer.

Kent’s airtime on the TV show increased as she became a fan favorite. By season six, she secured a spot as one of the series’ primary cast members. On the brink of getting fired, Lala started showing up back to work. With a new aura of a kept woman and aspiring movie star, she immediately formed a close friendship with SUR’s new hostess Billie Lee —the reality show’s first transgender cast member. Meanwhile, her friendship with her former boyfriend, James Kennedy, starts to deteriorate after James starts to insult Lala’s boyfriend, Randall Emmett. Kent broke off her friendship with Kennedy due to his rude behavior towards her and their colleagues. She appealed to him to seek help to deal with his violent alcoholism.

Season seven brought Lala Kent to new heights. She took her cast members on vacation and shopping trips on Randall’s private jet and partied everywhere possible. Things came crashing down when Lala’s father, Kent Burningham, suddenly passed away. Kent spiraled into alcohol binging and starting fights with everyone, including Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence. The feud started after Lawrence made a guest appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live! where she declared her love for the network’s hit reality series and said some choice words about Lala’s behavior on the show. Kent didn’t like the names that Lawrence named her and called out the actress (19) for her double standard. In June 2018, Lala stated on The Jenny McCarthy show that Jennifer Lawrence had apologized to her and that she accepted the apology.

Lala Kent spent seasons eight and nine fighting for her sobriety, wedding planning, getting pregnant, giving birth, and dealing with the fallout of her split from ex-fiancé Randall Emmett. In June 2020, Kent’s Vanderpump Rules co-stars Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute got fired from the reality show after racist actions and remarks made by the pair against co-star Faith Stowers resurfaced. Stowers admitted that Lala had a part in the bullying and harassment against her, but Faith highlighted that Kent reached out and personally apologized (20) to her.

On May 12, 2022, the Bravo network announced that they are renewing Vanderpump Rules for another season. As one of the show’s famous cast members, fans expect Lala Kent to be part of the upcoming season.
