Paul Simon & Lauren Simon 'Hellish' Ongoing Divorce Battle
Paul Simon’s now ex-wife Lauren Simon confessed that their ongoing divorce battle has been “hellish.” Lauren appeared to be blissfully married to property investor husband Paul when “Real Housewives of Cheshire” premiered in 2015, but the couple had divorced a year later. The reality star abruptly left the program in 2018, despite continuing on the show till the eighth season.
“I took a year off filming to try and finalise the divorce, but the plan was always to go back to the show,” she explained referring as to why she left the show in 2018. “I just needed to take some time off to sort myself out because it was a huge life change. The divorce battle is sadly still ongoing, but it felt like the right time to go back for me,” she explained to OK! magazine.
Lauren was awarded a £3 million settlement as part of her divorce settlement, but Paul is appealing, claiming it is “discriminatory.” He further says that the divorce judgment has effectively left him with no ready cash of his own because it is worth £1 million more than the couple’s liquid assets, which totaled £2 million. He wants the Court of Appeal to decide that the compensation was ‘inherently discriminatory’ in favor of his wife as a ‘homemaker’ and against him as the family’s major income.
