Ayanda Ncwane's Husband and Family Life

Ayanda Ncwane is married to the late South African gospel singer Sfiso Ncwane. Together they have two sons, Ngcweti Ncwane and Mawenza Ncwane. The couple met in 2001, Ayanda Ncwane was just 18 years old. The reality tv star and some of her friends were walking to buy some ice cream when the late gospel musician set eyes on her. Sfiso walked up to her and they talked about a lot of stuff like the reason why she went on a journey in a big city like Johannesburg without a family. (3)

Sfiso Ncwane proposed to her on February 18, 2007. By June, the couple tied the knot. The couple would’ve celebrated their 10th year wedding anniversary in 2017 if Sfiso didn’t die in December 2016 due to kidney failure.

Sfiso Ncwane’s death wasn’t sudden. He was hospitalized at first and after diagnosis, he was moved to an intensive care unit (ICU). Her late husband’s death truly affected Ayanda greatly, because years after his death it was revealed that she’s changed nothing in their Hillcrest mansion.

People grief differently and Ayanda’s way of dealing with the pain of losing a loved one is making things the same way as before her late husband was rushed to Fourways Life Hospital.

When a couple is married, they make a promise that they’ll only part ways when one dies. However, this is not the case for Ayanda Ncwane. She vows not to look for another man in her life because nobody can take the spot of he late husband. She has also joked that she sometimes wonders if there is a man existing that is brave enough to wed a woman who’ll forever be labeled as Sfiso Ncwane’s wife/widow.

Like any other marriage, their marriage wasn’t perfect. They had their downsides, one of which is Ayanda’s relationship with her in-laws. Ayanda Ncwane wasn’t really welcomed in her late husband’s family. This is because her in-laws believe that she is a gold digger and she is only after her late husband’s fortune.

The reality tv star says that she understands where their sentiments are coming from. She says it is really hard to see your family’s breadwinner settling down and creating a family of his own. She made this statement because the late Sfiso Ncwane was the breadwinner of their family- both extended and nuclear. When her late husband died, her in-law’s treatment of her didn’t change.

Her in-laws weren’t the only ones causing drama in their marriage. The couple’s happy marriage was also riddled with controversies because of Sfiso Ncwane’s alleged baby mama dramas. In 2015, a woman by the name of Pinky Dlamini accused her late husband of being her son’s biological father and even demanded that he starts paying her for child support.

However, these claims were quickly denied by the late gospel singer and he even challenged the woman to do a paternity test as he cannot pay for a child that’s not his. According to her alleged baby mama, she and Sfiso Ncwane dated in 2002, but she got pregnant and upon learning about the pregnancy, he abandoned her.

In 2010, there was another baby mama that demanded that the late gospel singer acknowledge their child together and pay child support. It is also worth mentioning, that another baby mama of the late gospel singer is also part of The Real Housewives of Durban, Nonku Williams.

In the case of Nonku Williams, Ayanda Ncwane acknowledge that her daughter Nothile was indeed her late husband’s daughter. According to her, the late gospel singer wanted Nothile to bear his last name but was unable to do so since he died. It was Ayanda Ncwane that took Nothile to visit the grave of her father.

After Sfiso Ncwane’s death, a lot of baby mamas came forward and accused Ayanda of faking the late gospel singer’s will by making her and her children the sole beneficiary. In July 2020, Sifso Ncwane’s alleged children Snqobile Mzelemu and Sduduzo Dlamini took Ayanda Ncwane to court in a bid to get their share of their father’s wealth. They claimed that Ayanda just wanted everything to herself.
